This year I've taken the time to work on the This Is Hardcore Fest
experience from the ticket buying, thousand odd miles traveling,
sitting on the sidewalk and wanting to see bands but needing to eat
and its too damn hot to do this all day TIHC attendee.
After all the cool bands we've booked and ways we've made some things
easier we haven't given enough attention to what the kids want to do
besides see cool bands, until 2011..

Anyone who has been to the R5 Punk Rock Flea Market knows of the large
building across 9th Street from the Starlight Ballroom (home of TIH).
We'll be using it the weekend of August 12-14 to allow the kids to eat
their food at tables with chairs inside. Expect a bag check and
assortment of merch vendors and food vendors (Gourmet Ice Cream,
Funnel Cake, Sno Cones etc) inside to keep you refreshed between
bands. There will be easy access to safe parking and even a basketball
net for some hoops. Port o potties will be available and we may even
have some sweet giveaways.

On Saturday and Sunday of the Fest we will be blocking off 9th Street
between Noble and Buttonwood Sts.
There will be no cross traffic and parking on 9th. Instead we'll have
5 or so Food Vendors with various food options so people don't have to
eat burritos all weekend or travel away from the fest for food and
miss bands.
Expect veggie and vegan options as well like Philadelphia's own
Blackbird Pizzeria to be available to order from the Starlight
Ballroom, they are the best Vegan Pizza in the city and hopefully
you'll give it a try!

We've also decided to add Presale Parking in the lot adjacent to the
building. You may purchase this at the time when you buy your ticket
from Ticketfly.com


Hopefully these additions will help make the 3 days on 9th street and
the 4 days overall more enjoyable and bearable for everyone at TIH
2011.

We will be taking charitable donations in the form of School Supplies
for Eliza Shirley House Shelter for Women. There are many children who
are going through a terrible time and are in need of school supplies
and your help would make a huge impact on their every day life.
We will also be accepting packs of new socks and underwear for men and
women, bars of soap and body deodarant for the Broad St Ministry's
Cafe they run in the wintertime for the homeless. These items are the
most in need and most often replinished.
