stay on the east side. N, NE, or SE is where you'd want to look, inside 60th st if possible. PCC is in N/NE and there's lots of cool neighborhoods near by like the Alberta area.

living anywhere inside of portland is expensive as fuck. you can live anywhere on the outskirts for way cheaper and just take the max or buses anywhere you need to go.

sw right outside of downtown off of broadway.I love it but I cant find a job.I go to the cascade campus and its pretty dope.
The town is super efficient so no matter where you live you're close to everything.in my opinion I would live in a 5 mile radius from the city.you can get anywhere on a bike in 30 min.
how far is niggaland from portland?

right now the place i'm looking at is
Montclair Terrace
4835 SW Oleson Road
Portland, OR 97225
they told me it was a couple minutes from the sylvania campus. haha right now i live in st. george utah and i can't wait to leave. the biggest problem though is i have to take my dog and cat, and it's kind of hard to find a complex that will take large dogs

haha thats my hood. some of my friends live at that complex, kinda crappy. typical suburban area, but you are on 2 bus lines (54, 56) that would take you right downtown. like others have said you would enjoy yourself more downtown or out on the east side.

N/NE is cheapish but rent is on the rise. Or SE. You just gotta dig for cheap rent. You'll find hidden treasures everywhere honestly. If you have a car, dont sweat living out in SW too much cause you get into the city within minutes. If you dont, and wanna do shit past midnite, move closer in.
Fuck Voodoo Donuts. Over it.
Oh yeah avoid hipsters at all cost. You might have fun and get laid.
Come to my dingbat night every 4th thursdays

I just spent a week and a half in Portland. I'd love to live there but I'm not ready to move cross country just yet.
Southeast area is really cool, very close to a lot of places I dig eating at and hang around in. But I've still yet to find an area of Portland I didn't like. I've heard that area seems to be the part of town that a lot of people first moving there seem to want to go to, so I'd imagine it may be hard to find housing.
One of my good friends just moved up to North Portland, I hadn't been around there very much, but that section of town was really cool too.
Mighty O donuts were awesome, Whole Foods down on Burnside carried them in their baked good section. I dig the shit out of Voodoo but I can see getting over it if you eat it too much. Sweetpea Baking has awesome vegan donuts on Saturdays.

It's not far at all, like 40 miles or so. You'd be roughly halfway between Portland and Eugene, which is worth checking out sometime.
