i just finished reading the silmarillion, it was okay. if you're into lord of the rings, check it out. it's all about how middle earth and the world came to be.

Great read if your into history and petropolitics, I got over vonnegut in 8th grade.

Quinn basically expands on ideas from previous books/other random topics in this book. Almost done reading all his books. Favorite author.

I'm not going to quote all of the posts I'd like to respond to, would take too long.
So...
Item 1. It seems like Breakfast of Champions is always in one of the first two or three posts in these threads.
Item 2. Bob Dylan's Chronicles: Sucks.
Item 3. Walden took me a longer time to read than any other book, ever. Even books twice its length. Don't get wrong, I loved it, but it's some dense, flowery shit, and it'll be a few years before I try reading it again.
Item 4. One Hundred Years of Solitude is so amazing. I haven't read it in years, but I've recently moved it back into my "to-read" stack.
Item 5. I bitch about Palahniuk in all of these threads, so I guess I'll get it out of the way now; I hate him.
Item 6. Tolstoy is wonderful. Hell's Angels is superb. James Fenmore Cooper's a joke. The Things They Carried is amazing, I just re-read it.
Item 7. My girlfriend got me All Over But the Shouting for X-Mas, and I read it that night. I really enjoyed the book. They're my favorite band.
Item 8. Motherfucking Knut Hamsun, it's so good to see someone else reading his stuff. My favorite Hamsun book is probably Pan, but I think Hunger was nearly just as life-changing.
