If I were you, I would take the bike to a shop and ask to see a couple of wheels to determine what will fit best (all of them will probably fit, but some might leave you with less frame clearance if you wanted bigger tires, or might be too small for your brakes to reach). You'll have more road-appropriate wheel/tire choices with 700c. Less with 650b/c wheels/tires, and even less with 26" wheels/tires (as most are designed for mountain bikes...though quite a few companies are starting to make road-specific 26" wheels due to more touring bikes utilizing the size, and 26" replacement wheels being more common than 700c in less "cultured" places). |
