Today is the last day of closed beta and tomorrow they are wiping all characters of their gear for the last time. It's a Free to Play game that isn't Pay to Win. There is microtransactions but solely for cosmetic purposes. This game has raised 2.2 million dollars from donations via supporter packs. I believe over 185, $1,000 donation packs have been sold.

The download for the open beta client doesn't go live until 2pm eastern tomorrow which is 2 hours before open beta goes live.

It's fucking awesome, the combat is a little slow/ clunky in the beginning. Once you obtain stats from gear/massive as fuck passive tree, that increase movement speed, attack speed and other things, the game really picks up.

It's been coined as D2 V2.0

Holy shit the skill tree is insane. When I first heard about this game and saw they were only putting in three stats, I assumed it would be a really light ARPG kind of like the first Torchlight but nope. That skill tree and the gems for abilities make this game look even more awesome.

This game is great! You can basically make a completely unique character depending on what skills you want to get just because there are so many passive skills to get. The items and how the spells work is cool in my opinion. I was playing the Beta for quite a bit when they first started giving out keys but I haven't played it too much recently so I'm not sure if they've made any changes.

But yeah, this game is awesome, and free, so what's not to like!

I'm pretty keen to start a witch and fucking ROMP with summons and spells. My download is going slow as fuck though and my modem reset just before completely resetting all the progress it had made.

How come? I like dual wielding from an aesthetic standpoint but I just remembered I fucked around with the Barbarian type class and he pretty much one shotted everything that wasn't a boss with a 2H weapon so maybe I'll do that

Alright this game is fucking amazing. Everything from the soundtrack (which is great) to the art style, the character selection screen, the atmosphere and the general gameplay is a great homage to Diablo II. The player characters and NPC's all have personalities and really good dialogue. I don't see anything wrong with the combat either and it doesn't feel 'slow' to me at all, especially since you can start upgrading your attack speed straight off the bat. Melee does feel weaker than spells at the start (I made a Duelist before my Witch) but I imagine it levels out and with the amount of customization for everything in this game you aren't gimped by playing one class over another.

Also the Duelist has a New Zealand accent which is cool as fuck and the Witch is pretty creepy. She plays kind of like a mixture of the Necromancer and Sorcerer in Diablo II and feels powerful and fun.

Got my Marauder to level 10, killed a mob and went to make a sandwich, came back and I was dead. FUCK THIS GAME. Not because it was a hc toon but because the instance reset and now I have to kill Chatters again :smt010

This shit used to happen in WoW if people took too long to run through an instance. I'd keep your sandwich making equipment close to the computer :smt002
