There's a lot of Star Wars talk going on across several different threads, so let's bring it all to one place. There's some big stuff coming up as I'm sure fans know. If you haven't been paying attention, here's some stuff to check out.

Love Star Wars! I haven't delved much into the extended Star Wars universe other than Jedi Outcast and the first KotoR though. Pretty stoked on The Old Republic!
Whoever said that there needs to be a new Jedi Knight game, I back this 110%. Why it hasn't been done already is a mystery. There needs to be a multiplayer Star Wars game for this generation.
i miss the star wars games of my youth. Rogue Squadron, episode 1 racer, KOTOR, battlefront, demolition, jedi outcast, obi wan, Masters of Teras kasi.
i feel like i havent played a good star wars game in a really long time. i didnt like unleashed and it seems like the only other games coming out are lego games. oh well, im hoping battlefront 3 and TOR will be great.

Yes dude, the first 2 left me so god damn confused. The first ones ending wasnt as bad as the seconds.
What about Battlefront 3, can we talk about how much of a cock tease that is? They were literally almost done with that game when the production company was shut down. Then they just scrapped it.

i have a copy of two ill let go if you still need it.

But if they were to finally put this game out, I would be so stoked. The multiplayer with 2 was awesome and with how much online multiplayer has advanced since 2 came out, 3 would be a rager.

In the Star Wars universe, it's actually one of the better combat forms. It combines strength, defense and speed together very effectively.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that Vader was a master of Form V, which would explain Galen being taught that as well.
I kinda wish you could switch up his style on the fly. Like different light sabers and stuff. It would really make for some deep combat.
you can change crystals to alter damage and color
Yeah but I don't remember it making a whole lot of difference. I mean if they made it like ninja gaiden/devil may cry/god of war and be able to switch between one lightsaber/two lightsabers/a darth maul style lightsaber etc. depending on the situation or enemies. It would make for much deeper combat

Thats an interesting idea, Dark obi-wan.
Ya, Battlefront 3 would be amazing now. I hope someone is doing it. It baffles me how developers can just drop a game that wins "gome of the year" or sells a shit load of copies

No thanks man, I appreciate the offer but those games are gems. I'll find it eventually.
i've had an idea for a star wars game forever that combines x-wing and tie fighter with battlefront and something similar to homeworld. it would be a massive multiplayer dog fight / FPS / RTS and the role that you play is entirely dependent on how well you have played up until that point. you would play as either the rebels or the empire (i'm talking ep 4-6 here era star wars) and you would start out at a low rank and eventually get "promoted" based on kills to deaths ratio and capturing objectives. for example, you'd start as a foot troop and work your way up to squad leader then you'd get to man a turbo laser on a star destroyer or mon cal cruiser and then you'd move up to being a fighter pilot and from there you could move up to wing commander and eventually command a ship and then finally a fleet of vessels. battles would be fought across multiple fronts simultaneously with different objectives such as destroying a base, capturing resources, escorting VIPs, CTF, control point etc and would last anywhere from a half hour for a quick skirmish to 2 hours for an epic battle. keep in mind, there would be actual people either giving you orders or receiving your orders and a big part of the game would be trusting your squad and playing as a cohesive unit.
anyways, TL;DR i know, but this is something that keeps me up at night and i get stoked just thinking about it

I own KOTOR 2, I will GLADLY send you my copy if I can find it.
Later on you can expect a long winded rant on why I hate 90% of the expanded universe.

Fuck yes. I wish I knew more people around these parts that I could sit down and have a serious Star Wars discussion with, expanding beyond the movies and into the Extended Universe and so on. Whenever I do run into a person with extensive knowledge of the Star Wars universe, it's such a rewarding feeling.
In depth Star Wars conversations= Best thing ever.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with jar jar binks. naboo was the coolest planet in episodes 1-3. episode 1 was the best of those 3 by far. the new kotor will probably not be as good as we all hope it will be. as far as the expanded universe is concerned, if you havent read anything by timothy zahn you are an uninformed nerf herder.
oh yeah and battlestar gallactica > star wars. nobody can argure with me because these random truths are self evident. more to come later.

I don't think Jar Jar was as bad as everyone makes him out to be, but he still was pretty annoying at times. I definitely don't think Phantom Menace was the best of the prequels. I'd say Attack of the Clones was the worst, but Revenge of the Sith was pretty fucking awesome.
As much of a Battlestar Galactica fan I am (it's definitely my favorite television series ever), I can't say I agree. I hold such a heavy love for BSG, but Star Wars has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old. The importance it plays in my life is unimaginable.
On a side note: going to Celebration V this year. Going to kick ass.
>there is absolutely nothing wrong with jar jar binks.
uh.

YES. I want to live there and make sweet love to Padme every night.
> episode 1 was the best of those 3 by far.
you spelled "worst" wrong.
>the new kotor will probably not be as good as we all hope it will be.
I'm assuming you mean TOR? I really hope it is. Actually, its not compatible with Macs, so fuck if I'll ever know. Considering saving up and spending all my money on a new PC just to play this game (read: drop out of life, lightsaber in hand)
>as far as the expanded universe is concerned, if you havent read anything by timothy zahn you are an uninformed nerf herder.
I've gotta say that I'd take Naboo over Coruscant any day as well. Fuck it, I'd just spend my time traversing from planet to planet via my own ship and staying as long as I wanted on each planet and then head out for the next one. It would be the best life ever.

not even joking, my biggest fantasy is to own a Corellian stock light freighter and just cruise the spacelanes, banging out every hot Twi'lek.

revenge of the sith was definitly full of massive amounts of badasserry, but everytime i watch it i squirm because of all the awkward moments between anakin and padme.
there was a time when i would agree with you about BSG, but i lost most of my intrest in the star wars universe when the yuuzhan vong became the focus of everything. i just check on wookiepedia to keep up on current events and it seems as though they had ANOTHER gallactic civil war. it tires me. i really wouldnt care if star wars just stopped making new material altogether. the only thing i really want to know is where yoda came from and how he came to be.

You and I both. I often tell people that I don't believe in an afterlife, but I do believe that when I die I'll wake up reborn in the Star Wars universe. It either makes people laugh, scoff, or look at me with confusion and doubt.
I've never seen a Star Wars game really dive into the different Jedi combat styles, lightsaber forms or beyond. The most I've seen is different basic lightsaber styles (single saber, double saber or saber-staff) mixed with at most three "stances"/swing modes. Anybody who has dived into even a small amount of Star Wars lore/canon beyond the films has an idea just how deeply developed it has become. I'd really like to see a game that not only represented a deeper level of the saber combat, but tried to put a grasp on the intense psychological battle that many Jedi/Sith encounters can be. I wanna see some Dun Moch.

at least one of the KOTOR games had the forms that you could master, and they definitely affected the way you acted during combat.

I'm getting a traditional pinup style MANS RUIN tattoo, except the babe is going to be a Twi'lek.
