Can't go wrong with an AK47. As you can see, anyone can use them. I've seen average prices range from about $400-$600. Just make sure you don't get some weird knock-off. If you're getting one, might as well go Russian.

I'd also recommend any bolt-action rifle. They're all pretty fun. Get a .22 or something so you don't have to spend much on money on ammunition and can get comfortable with shooting a lot. Start taking it to a range and try other people's guns and find one you really like.
You can get some old WWII bolt-action rifles for pretty cheap ($100-200). Last I checked, Mosin Nagants with a strap/kit/bayonet can be ordered online for about 70$ base price - so depending on who you send it through you can get it for around $100-$130.

I paid $300-$400 for mine, but that was pre obama craziness. Now $500-$600 seems normal.

Depends on how much you want to spend.
You can get a real basic kit from delton for about $600 +/- If you wanna get real fancy and go with larue or noveske you can drop an easy $3000

The last gunshow I went to Nagats/K98's and the older springfields were all really cheap. Just make sure you don't get a yugo made one. Swiss or German on all the 98/08.
