Let's try this again...
Lots of hot things recently just went on and about to happen.
+ Dana White on E:60
+ Gomi beating the Shooto champ and maybe coming to the UFC?
+ Bellator having the KO and submission of the years.
+ UFC 98, very good bouts.
+ Dream's Super Hulk tournament (WAR MOUSASI)
Talk about whatever, let's try to keep it in this thread.

Gomi's been in the crowd of two UFC events in the last couple months, right?

Not too sure about that one Mike.
But evidence of potential fighters coming to the UFC, Overeem and maybe Schilt.

Well, Overeem's not coming till they decided steroids are A-OK. I think Gomi was on camera at one ppv and backstage at another.

It's amazing how big Overeem got, roids are without question.
Speaking of Overeem, Cro-Cop is recovering from knee surgery and maybe back? But we've heard that one before, he's still an UFC fighter, so we'll see where he goes.

I think Dana came off decent enough on the E:60 pieces I watched on MMAWeekly. I think him and Tito are both tools, but that Dana came off less douchey.
Where did you read about Gomi coming to UFC? I hadn't caught that.
These last 2 weeks have been crazy for Bellator. When I was first saw the reverse triangle, i swear it wasn't even choking, until he was passed the fuck out, lol. And that spinning back fist was more like a spinning back forearm. Devastating shot.
As for the Hulk Tourney, I hope it gets Dream the ratings they're looking for cause there is a lot of talent there, and I like having a major Japanesse org besides Sengoku.

Like Mike (apollo kids) said Gomi has been making apperances at a handful of UFC events.
Here's a little excerpt of an interview:
Sherdog: Since “time is running out,” where do you want to go next? Do you want to stick around in Shooto a little longer, or will you be heading back to fighting in big promotions? What do you, personally, want to do?
Gomi: I'd like to relax for a little bit, and if I continue fighting, I'd like to test the waters overseas.
Sherdog: Are there any comments you'd like to convey to all your international fans?
Gomi: “I'm coming soon! The Fireball Kid will be there!” [Laughs] I'd like to thank all of you, and continue to thank you for supporting me and MMA. You guys are important, and I'll continue to do my best. Oh, and tell Dana White I said, “hi!”
=========================
Take it for what you will, but it would be amazing to see a rematch between him and BJ. If Gomi could do the GSP method, GNP BJ, I would love to see Gomi with UFC gold.

roids? or all that horse meat (wtf??) hes been eating.
also, ive heard rumblings of cro-cop facing overeem in a k-1 rules match this year.
some other cool things as of late
-the inverted triangle choke that toby imada pulled out on masvidal at bellator FC recently. masvidal looked like a dead fish before it was over.
-matt serra insulting matt hughes' religious beliefs.
i also really can't wait to see how machida does against rashad evans.

I expect and really want Machida to win on the 23rd - in the back of my mind, it'd be cool to see Evans win, leading to Evans v Jackson.

Machida is a really great fighter, don't get me wrong. I really do like Evans a lot though and it's not a homer opinion but I think Greg Jackson will figure out Machida. Rampage is my favorite fighter and would prefer seeing him against Evans, especially since their heated exchange after 96.

Is Randleman even cleared to fight in the US again? Him submitting an unidentified animal urine sample was the greatest thing ever, dude is so awesome.

Overeem isn't going anywhere hes a StrikeForce so if he is on roids he wont get away with it much longer. Hes actually looked really good lately which is cool cuz theirs allot of fun possible fights out there. Hes fighting Bret Rogers next tho.

Roger's in Strikeforce? This is awesome news!
Gomi isn't GNPing anyone. His takedowns are nothing to talk about.
I'm really hoping Akiyama does well in his UFC debut. I'm all for more international talent in the Octagon.
Preordered Undisputed 2009. B9 X-Box Live tourney, anyone?

I am not sure if the discussion has passed, but signing gomi would be a big mistake for the UFC. Sure he looked good in his last fight, but he looked terrible in all of his other post pride fights. His joining the UFC and being hyped as the best lightweight in japan would only serve to reinforce the idea that japanese guys can't hang in the ufc.
I am really looking forward to Akiyama at 100 though. In an interview on sherdog he said that he wanted to fight wanderlei, that would be pretty cool. I just hope that it wouldn't be a number one contender type situation. I don't think it would be though as the anderson/wanderlei beef is too good to not make the fight happen, and they are probably paying Akiyama big money.

UFC 100 is going to be sweet. Coleman/Bonnar being on the undercard shows how stacked it is. DREAM tournament will rule, as will Brown/Faber 2.
I'm going with Machida at 98 for the simple reason that Forrest Griffin, who's footwork, speed, etc are much slower than Machida was still able to dominate Rashad the majority of the fight. On paper, Rashad is in trouble. Machida has the better technical striking and if Rashad wants it on the ground, how's he get it there? Tito out-wrestled Rashad, but couldn't get Machida down. Even if it does go to the ground, I think Machida's BJJ skills leave him more than capable there.
