Whenever I log in just from the main board page, it directs me to the first page of the last thread I looked at, but still logs me it. I'd rather it not do that.

For those who are experiencing slowness or time out on pages: there's nothing on our side that might point to that error, it means it is very probably something on your side. To see what can be done about it I need the traceroute to identify why your machine is not routing correctly to our server.

If you're a Windows user, run the Command Prompt and digit tracert theb9.com

If you are Mac/Unix run Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities/ folder) and digit traceroute theb9.com

Once you have the results copy and paste them in a email or PM to me.

Well, if you pretend that a session stays open 40 minutes, you probably better saving your posts before submitting, this is quite a general rule with everything on the internet, even using gmail or whatever other website. If your connection drops when submitting you lose everything. Or in this case the session closes and you lose everything. Did you select the "keep me logged in" option?

Regarding the double submission, I will look through the posting to correct it, but it seems something related with the browser settings.

ok i was able to time how long it took me to load the board when leaving a thread during one of these slow periods. it look 1min 38sec. its pretty sporatic tonight. working fine sometimes and then short periods of it going very slow for me.

i was also able to do a tracert of theb9.com while i was timing the page loading. so ill pm that to you.

also during this time i decided to check some other sites to see if they were running slow but they were all normal.

Thanks for the detailed post, I briefly discussed with the system admin and did some tweaking to lower the load of the server, hopefully there will be less delays.

I dont like that the board doesnt stretch with pictures. Also, the text just keeps going to the right and you cant see it instead of hopping down a line.

Board is still slow as hell/timing out 50% of the time. Still can't access it with Firefox. I think it's crazy that it would be a USER problem when I can access every other webpage on the internet just fine. Address this stuff so B9 isn't getting ripped off by whoever they are paying.

For some reason I'm still investigating, the functions file has been swapped from the test board to the regular one, causing it to give this error.

I'll make sure this won't happen again, but just in case, sidekick has a separate system that works independently from this board. If you're having problems here just use that one.

Regarding slowness: I'm still working on some decoding. Who is still having these problems please PM or email me.

Image resizing is on its way (that's the reason why the text stretches to the right).

Users count will be back soon as well, it is a heavy system and too many users on the board cause it to fail.

The downside would be some of those pointless lurkers registering, continuing to lurk and then occasionally posting stupid stuff without the context of an established name. But it works for me
