At The Gates -The Flames of the End DVD Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iMHkTkjVtM

Legendary Swedish death metal outfit At The Gates will release a three DVD set entitled, "The Flames Of The End" through Earache Records on February 22nd of next year. The DVD set includes:

Disc 1: Under A Serpent Sun - The Story of At The Gates - a brand new documentary with a running time of over 2 hours, detailing the band's entire career with exclusive interviews and footage, filmed and directed by guitarist Anders Bjorler.

Disc 2: Purgatory Unleashed - Live at Wacken - a 75-minute live set from the band's reunion set at the Wacken festival in 2008 in front of 100,000 people.

Disc 3: Only the Dead Are Smiling - 26 rare and archive live performances of the band playing in locations around the globe from 1991 - 2008.

fuck yes.

Eh. Will download. I saw the reunion tour. Don't think the band's story is that interesting. If it was on the melodic death scene in general, then that'd be cool--because there's so many places you could go from there.

I wouldn't mind seeing a documentary covering the entire Swedish death metal scene of the late 80's/early to mid 90's. There's a book out on it, so perhaps someday. Probably not though.

I gotta say, with death metal there are so many bands out there it gets overwhelming.
There are still some "classic" bands I have yet to hear full albums from cause I'm a picky bastard and stuck with the stuff I knew.

This thread has definitely put me on to some good stuff though.

It should be on the Underworld blogspot. Personally, I think it's average at best.

I just discovered this band today. I'm extremely impressed by what I've heard. Well, the tracks off their new album anyways. The one's off "Perpetual Decay" aren't nearly as good.

Damn, this is some of the best death metal I've heard this year. Just one more release to pick up in the coming weeks.

Thanks a ton for the upload theburn.

The entire album has a heavy Autopsy groove to them, without being a mere clone.

this is awesome!
thanks!

Also, Lie in Ruins just dropped a full length, and it's pretty good, imo.

Speaking of bands from the UK, how about that band Adorior? Good stuff. I don't typically like girl vocals in death/black metal, but it works pretty well in this case.

Didn't know about them until they opened for The Chasm/Deströyer 666. Tight performance, but they need to be a bit more subtle with the trigger samples. Also, they're the fucking whitest people I've ever seen.

Kam Lee and Rogga released an album already this year(Bone Gnawer), and it wasn't very good, so you have to understand why I'd be a bit skeptical.

I can see your point. You were right about the Fatalist album its nothing great the demo is better and is 80% of the new album redone and not as good.

Spearhead and Dead Congregation both rule.

And no matter how many times I go back and try, I just can't get into Immolation.
Good for what they do but I just find it boring.

Deathcult for Eternity:The Triumph
Procession to the Infraworld

Those are a great place to start, although I enjoy everything they've done for the most part. The new album is great.

They're decent. They have more of a blackened doom/death feel to them, rather than the thrashiness of the latter albums. Definitely worth checking out. It's The Chasm, so obviously it's great, but they definitely pale in comparison to their later albums.

Where can I order the cd's?

I found two the one from Earache and Procession to the Infaworld.

Noticed the new one is limited to 500 copies I think.

Where the hell did you find Procession to the Infraworld? I don't care for it but I was under the impression that it was out of print. In fact, that's the problem you're going to find tracking down CDs from this band. They're a bit difficult to get a hold of because they went into an extremely limited pressing.

I found it on Cduniverse.com

I have found four cds so far and think I'm stuck there unless I want to spent $150 on ebay which isn't happening.

I think I searched at least 30 different sites.

I am selling a larger medium Left Hand Path shirt. It is a non-bootleg and one of the OG 1991 ones. Anyone interested before I throw it up on ebay? No rips or tears and it has the band pic with the big cross on the back.
