Yeah I tried to watch just one episode this weekend and ended up watching all 4.

Spoiler: show
I do wish that we got a more Hollywood ending lol. Like, the ex-hooker lady at the end who said the pizza guy didn't know about it. No offense but she kinda seemed a little unreliable. And the lady and the big dude both dying from cancer is kinda bittersweet. I also wish they woulda elaborated more on Marjorie's mental illness. They talked about it but didn't go into it as much as I thought they would. All that aside tho, I really enjoyed it.

Wasn't this made into a movie with Jesse Eisenberg a few years ago?

Something I noticed watching twice around:

Spoiler: show
During the news broadcasts about the pizza bombing, they show the street the pizza was delivered on, which was right next to Bill's house. In the driveway sat the blue AstroVan. Crazy to me that the guy who had seen the van did not notice it in the news broadcasts prior to Bill's home investigation about the frozen body. That is if he ever saw the news.

Whaaat. It's probably crazy to think that the perpetrators would live so close to the crime scene. What do I know though.

Obvious take, but I can see his call to the police about her was a way to take the heat off of him being a guilty guy or suspect in a case that happened so close to his house, but resulted in the total opposite.

Fell asleep midway through the third episode. Started watching around 9:30 and didn't want to stop watching. Unfortunately I passed out after a long weekend.

Definitely looking forward to finishing the series tonight.

it's kind of funny(?) for how smart they are and they lengths they went to and they still didn't know that you like can't rob a bank. no one is getting away with a quarter million these days

This story is nuts, I vaguely remember it when it happened. I think they were to smart for their own good. Hearing the pizza dude pleading for them to do something was pretty heartbreaking.

The hostage was still acting super weird for a guy with a bomb around his neck. I mean, he clearly knew the bomb was real once he entered the bank. Why'd he hang out in the line and suck on a lollipop?

I don't think he knew that it was actually real at that point did he? Either way, he was a little too chill to be carrying a bomb and a cane gun in a bank ha

In the fourth episode (I think) they discuss how freaked out he was at radio tower, so he definitely knew.

I took it as he being freaked out that, that were placing something around his neck. he was kind of slow witted and they used that to their advantage, there is no way you're that chill in a bank after robbing it with a live bomb around your neck.

it almost felt like, he sorted still thought it might be fake even when he was handcuffed and it was making all the noises just based on how he was almost so nonchalant about it

I dunno, still strikes me as really weird. If somebody just fired a gun and strapped something to my neck to rob a bank, I wouldn't be chilling out and eating a lollipop.

Yup

I don’t think anyone besides the two main people thought it was real. That guy was definitely a little “special”

that's what makes this case so intriguing, that unknown. did he know the bomb was real? was he in on it? who was the true mastermind? did the hooker have more do with what happen?

Never mentioned but that has to be a crime. Right?? If I was his family, I’d probably sue the shit out of her. How does the legal system work?

Anyone else come to the conclusion that law enforcement just really dropped the ball with this case? Like, the sighting of the blue van by the PSP trooper, they kinda maybe thought so and so was involved but never did a handwriting analysis, the "snitch" folder with tons of notes, etc. Rothstein fit the profile to a T, yet they let him out on bail.

There was one part where one of the feds kind of just shrugged and basically said in a round about way they fucked up certain things

The pizza guy was definitely not in on it. The poor sap was suckered into it through a girl he was in love with. The group of Marjorie, Rothstein, and the other two dude reminds of me the Always Sunny gang except dumber and more deluded and not as funny. Mentally ill, narcissist, fucked up people who think they are smart because they can manipulate drug addicts and other mentally ill people. You can see Marjorie try to manipulate the director when she goes "you're an asshole if you believe him" and "if you do the movie from his/her perspective then youre gonna have a shitty movie." Like that is how you persuade a drug addict, who is obviously already doubting themselves if they are hooked on drugs. Some random sweater vest from Brooklyn isn't gonna fall for that.

Great series. Made me wanna watch Wild Wild Country too.

My understanding is the general consensus was that he was in on it, but was told it was going to be a fake bomb, learned it was real when they went to do it and had to have it forced upon him. Don't know if the show goes into it but he had a coworker that was in on it too and thought it was going to be a fake bomb too until he saw it had to be forced onto him and he was found ODed a couple days later, when he wasn't known to do drugs; he was possibly killed by the masterminds to keep him silent.

The thing I'm confused about is that Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong made Wells get 250,000 to pay Barnes to kill her father, but they didn't try and get any extra money besides that, so what was everyone else trying to gain from the robbery?

I think it was implied that once the father was killed she would inherit his "fortune" and they would be reimbursed for their involvement in the heist.
