Drag queen discussion

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

Well, I'm jealous you've seen Bianca live. She just had a show here a few weeks ago but I couldn't go. One of my favorite queens ever.

Was anyone else losing their mind when Ben DelaCreme did Paul Lynde on the Snatch Game this last All-Stars? It was one of the most hilarious, spot-on impressions I've ever seen.

Yea. And as a trans person, i agree. For a drag competition, hormones are an unfair advantage.

Doesn't mean trans women can't do drag. Hell, cis girls do drag .

Haters Roast was fantastic last night. All of the queens were good to great, but Jinkx Monsoon absolutely killed it and stole the show. I'm completely wrecked and exhausted from all the laughing.

Anybody have any legendary queens I should follow? Ones that aren’t from drag race. Linda Simpson or Amanda Leopore types.

That's a pretty silly definition of an "unfair advantage"
Like saying a bicyclist with alopecia has an unfair advantage because they don't have as much hair to shave

Drag race is high fashion pretty drag. They always talk about serving fish(looking lady like, which isn't the sole way to do drag) so yea I'd say taking something that softens your skin and redistributes body fat in a competition where the goal is to look as womanly as possible is an unfair advantage.

My favorite part of drag race is the skin softness elimination challenges. All the other challenges that involve creativity and talent get in the way of the skin softness parts

Yea putting makeup on soft skin is the same as having maybe 5 hours without stubble on your face.

Also not to pull a card here but unless you do drag or like me are trans,
Kindly hush. I can't believe i have to explain this.

Should trans people be disqualified after the first hormone pill? After one year of pills? Or do you think there should be a skin softness test they have to pass?

If someone waxed or lazered their face, would that be an unfair advantage? If someone elected to have plastic surgery (as many in the drag world have), would that be an unfair advantage? Should they be kicked out? What about waist binding? Should those who've gotten lip injections be disqualified because it's an unfair advantage over those who have to use a lot of lip liner?

I'm not arguing that "skin softness" and "body fat redistribution" can't ever be some (tiny) advantage for (some) trans people in certain competitions. You're wrong because you're overemphasizing the importance of realness/blending/passing and ignoring that different degrees of body modification that are already norms. Drag queen =/= female impersonator

Would someone let Michelle Visage know she can't have opinions about drag because she's not a queen and isn't trans?

You come into a thread i created and started some dumb shit. I said prove me wrong.

I have thick, dark hair facial hair. Do you think there would be no change in difficulty if i didn't?

We aren't talking about actual trans athletes and possible hrt advantages(there aren't any) were talking about a show that has more dick jokes than a blink 182 show.

This isn't the werk room, you're not throwing shade. Get a damn grip.

You can't turn the tables on someone from a fringe social group by pulling the "oh cool you have a cis friend" that's literally not a move you can make here.

My title is righteous babe. That's all you need to know.

But if you have something to say about any of the runway looks tonight I'm all ears. I missed the second half so i gotta watch still.

Also the idea that HRT wouldn't help me look more feminine is my actual fucking nightmare so thanks for smugly elbowing me. I created a thread to talk about something I love..and you're treating me like I'm playoff poster in a sports thread. Are you just gonna quote random lines with jim halpert responses or am I gonna get at least a gif? Come on troll.
