What's your latest favorite band?

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

I'm fucking obsessed with Arctic Monkeys now. I loved their song Do I Wanna Know for probably a year or two before bothering to listen to anything else, and now I love 2 of their albums front to back. That'll most likely be higher when I listen to the rest.

New album and tour soon. They're one of those amazing bands that sounds like their recordings live.

Great song and I really dig this video

I'm so all over the place lately. Last week it was nothing but weezer b-sides and pinkerton. Now I'm heavy into the first 3 soulfly records and sepultura - roots. Something about those downtuned tribal numetal jams just hits the spot.

I’ve loved primus since I was a kid and they were my first concert at 13, so probably them. Honorable mentions; integrity, all out war, Lee fields and the expressions and napalm death.

Post-hiatus Needles//Pins. Was already fond of them, but the newest LP is light years beyond their prior output. The hook to “Miracle” speaks volumes to me at this junction in life.

Been revisiting Sepultura a lot lately: Schzio, Beneath, and Arise. Absolute rippers through and through. Getting a lot out of Igor's meat and potatoes style of thrash drumming. He absolutely pounds those skins. The primitive nature of this era of Sepultura combined with the technical prowess they were aiming for creates an awesome middle ground that sets them apart from a lot of thrash bands. It's all in E standard too which makes it even more impressive. The fast tempos they reach and Max's grunt on Beneath The Remains makes the music pretty much death metal, not even thrash.

Been fucking with a lot of 90s alt metal. Faith No More have some of the catchiest and zaniest songs; one of the few non-guitar driven bands I absolutely love. Helmet and Deftones have the sort of pocket drumming I love. Great grooves and weird textures.

Incinerated from Australia have been scratching the caveman itch. Absolute deathgrind decimation.

Friendship from Japan take all the dumb caveman HC riffs I love just filthed up a ton with some crispy blasts thrown in. Kind of like a dumber Full Of Hell.

Undergang is coloring book caveman death metal. The crudeness and simplicity is totally the appeal for me. Can't get enough of them.

Morbid Angel are always my #1 though. Can never stop going back to them.

Probably Stereolab or Mercury Rev. I go through big Stereolab kicks every once in a while, that band is practically flawless. Mercury Rev are coming here next month on the Deserters Songs tour too, so it's already starting to be on heavy rotation.

Hiatus is so fucking sick. It's always killed me that there's a slight delay on that video. Luckily there are like 50+ pro-shot live videos of them on YouTube and they crush it every single time.
