not so much, i think they really regret the lyrical content of that record and have preferred to move on.

I had that impression too, but then I looked at and they've been playing "Pretty Lush" (i.e. some of their most juvenile, misogynistic lyrics) as recently as that tour with The Used. So I don't even know.

Regardless, I would have definitely gone to see them on that tour if I hadn't already had tickets to something else in both cities close to me that they were playing in. I hope they tour the hell out of this new record cause I've liked them since like, 2001, and never actually got a chance to see them live.

Loving the new album. The NPR write up was actually very funny when Beck was talking about the importance of bass.

This album is what I've been waiting for since 2002. It's not as polished or complete as W&T or ETYEWTKAS but damn if it doesn't feel good to have a new GJ album in my life.

Pretty insane how far some of these songs date back to. Citizen was apparently written in 98, and there's footage of them playing Natural Born Farmer at Warped Tour 03.

Band is cool. Always liked them and the what I've heard of the new record is pretty good.

Used to be my favorite band, saw them a ton between 2002-2006, and then a bunch when they started touring off of the coloring book/our color green stuff. This just sounds like a bunch of b-sides from their earlier years with Daryl basically singing whatever he feels like on top of it.

The songs are heavy, but the production is a bit too muddy for me and it's missing all of the memorable hooks that ETYEWTKAS and Worship & Tribute had. Probably because some of these songs are old and they chose to use any hooks on other songs. I wish there was more of that pop sensibility to this album, because the heavy parts are catchy, it just needs that polish that probably came with working with their production team back then.

I saw them last year on the tour with Coheed and Cambria, and it was honestly the worst show I've seen them at. Ended up leaving 3/4 through the set. End of an era.
