Beer thread: version whateverthef*ck

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

What's better than day drinking? Answer is not much. Anyway, searched high and low and couldn't find the beer thread so figured it was time to make a new one. What are you currently swilling on b9? For me, it's Greater Good Imperial Porter- at 11% alc this stuff packs a punch, plus it's by far one of the best tasting beers I've ever had.

Smirnoff Ice was also a terrible way to catch a quick inexpensive buzz as an underage shithead on a budget.

Seriously so good- recently had Opa Opa Milk Stout on tap which was incredible, also a fan of Left Hand Path's Milk Stout too. So tasty.

I've been into that Irish Death lately. Kicks the crap out of most new beers I've had lately and goes down real smooth.

Cheers broski- actually posting in there already, too. The more beer threads the merrier.

I had the new black lager by Narragansett over the weekend- not bad for $11/ 6pk, lighter dark beer with a decent alcohol content (7.5%).

I don't think we get Narragansett in my area but I do love me a nice black lager.

Yeah, it's probably regional to the North East. Should note they're big boy 16oz too, so for its price point, it's a no brainer- black lagers are perfect summer beers.

That's nuts. You can get mixed four packs of 22s where I live but it's usually not worth it.

Yeah, depending on the quality of the beer bigger bottles aren't always better. These go down nicely and after the second you have a nice buzz.

My dad was telling me he has recently gotten into Old Rasputin when I called him last night, and that made sense because he sounded drunk.

Old Rasputin will definitely have you slurring your words- we have a burger joint that gets it on tap sometimes, so good.

Speaking of which they had some monster 13%'er on tap one night and I had 4, the bartender wanted to cut me off but I sweet talked her into one more. Stuff was tasty too for having such a high alcohol volume.

Southern Tier makes a pretty good IPA (2xIPA), actually picked some up by mistake when buying a 6pk of their 2xEspresso a while back and was pleased. Clean crisp taste with a nice citrusy finish, and think it was 8+% alc.

Definitely one of my better mistakes, may have to pick some up for the weekend- been a while since I had an IPA.

PS- apparently there's a GOT beer out now, my Dad picked one up over the weekend and said he's saving it for the new season. He was so stoked haha.

Thought Alesmith sounded familiar- saw this one a while back in the craft beer section and almost got it, might have to try it out eventually.

Omegang has been making GOT beer for years, I've had a few of the different releases and they've all been in the solid to excellent category for the price.
