It's what you'd expect of an NFG song. Dig it.

The only thing that can really be said about new NFG material is "sounds like an NFG song." That's not meant to rag on them, it's just all there is to say.

The only legitimately awful album they've ever done was Not Without A Fight, and I think that one could be decent if it had better production.

Seeing them back to back weekends in late March/early April playing Stick and Stones twice, Nothing Gold Can Stay, and Coming Home. I'm excited. Coming Home got a lot of shit from what I remember when it came out, but I love it.

I'll listen to this later.

I think it took 10 years for people to appreciate it. Stoked to see them play it live soon. It was cool when James dewees was in the band for that record.

1. S/T (I dunno how it couldn't be the favorite; only consistent album they've ever put out and easily their best hooks...personal testimony: it came out when I was 12 and it was so much heavier and catchier than Blink that it left me awe struck)
2. Catalyst
3. Sticks and Stones
4. Not Without a Fight
5. Nothing Gold Can Stay

Sounded like total autopilot (which is an easy and constant criticism of this band, but isn't always true). And the lack of two guitarists hurt the dynamic and fullness. I have no idea why Chad Gilbert/the band didn't just continue to write as if they were a five piece. Instead, they basically recycled old riffs and ideas to diminished and noticeably emptier effect.

I know there was an uptick in NFG love like 10 or 11 years ago, but I'm kinda glad to see some present day appreciation as well. I'm not a gigantic fan or anything, but they destroy Blink 182 and people seemed to be jizzing all over their last shitty album on here.

I think there's a heavy dose of "time and place" nostalgia for this record, but I still dig it a lot even without that.

This song was bleh though, tres generic.

a) Song is pretty good

b) Max Moore will have eventually made a music video for every band ever

c) Is that guy traveling to NFG's bunker John Connor from the third Terminator movie?

Coming Home and Not Without A Fight are both great records. I'm not that into Radiosurgery although I'm not really sure why, it's definitely catchy.

I like this song. I watched the video for all of 20 seconds after the puking started though. Fuck that.

It's on Soulseek.

It's pretty awful. huge step back from Resurrection, which actually feels like a "resurrection" album now. Lots of keyboards. Barbed Wire is like a NFG AOR anthem which is neat I guess. If they went full-on with that style I'd understand it, but nah. And the two singles released are not at all in tone with the rest.

I know they couldn't stick to the attitude of the previous album but this did nothing for me.

I feel like they're so inconsistent with direction. Every record since Catalyst seems to hinge on what flavor of the week they're into. It's not like, say a band like Lagwagon, who put out consistently good pop punk and then went to a different sound on their latest release (which I was not a fan of personally, but many disagree). For Lagwagon, it's ok because Joey saw a diff direction. For NFG, I have no fucking idea who they put in charge of song writing (chad or Jordan?) but it varies so much from record to record. I love their classic stuff as it has some truly great pop punk nostalgia for me, but good lord they haven't put out a consistently good record since Catalyst (sorry I'm not into Coming Home).

Jordan's voice is always shot too when I see them live, but they have a ton of energy.
