I'm going to duck out of this thread after this so I don't spoil it for myself, but I just started Twin Peaks the other day. Really dig it, shouldn't have slept on it for so long.

Just got my copy of the book. Been a while since I've ran through the series. Anyone recommend if I should rewatch first or read the book?

Read the book. It fills in some stuff that happens in the 25 years. Doesn't spoil anything from the new season. And it's pretty cool thematically as far as the show goes.

Walmart.com has the blu ray set for 45 bucks right now, so stoked to upgrade from the gold box.

And to answer your question...

The movie is pretty good, just don't expect it to be to in line with the show. Also the missing pieces versions add a lot to the movie.

Kind of pissed about a reboot to be honest. I thought it ended perfectly. Fire Walk With Me is a solid movie and adds a lot to the story but I'm scared about this...

I'm a huge David Lynch fan but this is clearly cash grab on how popular Twin Peaks became with the Tumblr crowd. I'm not going in with any expectations. The show took a major dip in parts of S2 but ended perfectly. Don't fuck this up Lynch/Frost.

I love the movie. Got to see a screening and it was totally insane. So much better than watching it on a shitty laptop screen.

The movie is just fucked up and not nearly as fun as the show is.

The show took a dip in season two during that period where lynch/frost werent writing and directing the episodes.

i loved fire walk with me. i don't think it gets nearly the credit it deserves.

twin peaks was a very good tv show, but the movie lacked all that filler, eg james hurley, the hornes, the packards, ed and norma, etc. i guess it's kinda dumb to call ben and audrey horne filler, but basically, lynch took a borderline soap opera and turned it into a nasty, psychedelic horror film. it's one of his best films.

Just a little story.

My mom owns a shop next to the Twin Peaks Cafe (T-Mar). When they were filming for the new series, the producers would go into her shop and chat with her about when and where they would be filming. So my friends and I went down for a filming at the Cafe. We watched the filming a bit, stood in the background. There were relatively few onlookers and tourists. No one was being out of control. Pretty respectful and quit actually.

Anyway apparently months later, Lynch decided to reshoot those specific scenes because the camera caught too many people in the background watching the filming.

Anyway, I'm sure we had something to do with that, and I actually feel bad because it really fucked with when the show was supposed to originally be released.

I always fast forward that shit. I think even when I first saw it i gave up and fast forward that arc. Season two dips real hard in the middle but that last episide is so fucking crazy.

Just started a few days ago and am about to finish season one. Tried a few years ago and could never make it past the pilot.Trying to get caught up before the new series.
I dunno if I love or hate the fact that they use the same 3 or 4 songs over and over.
