Is there a list somewhere? I honestly can't think of stuff off the top of my head. Four Walls Falling, Killing Time, SOIA, Indecision? Ryker's had some good EPs, too, Life's a Gamble, in particular.

Kinda impossible for me to do but there were a lot of bangers in 1990-1992.

Inside Out - No Spiritual Surrender (1990)
Citizens Arrest - A Light in the Darkness (1990)
Burn - S/T (1990)
Heroin - All About Heroin (1991) ---I'd probably switch this out for Neanderthal just cuz.
Lifetime - Tinnitus (1994)

Very tough to limit it to 5 in a genre like hardcore where 7" are the ultimate format.

Without thinking too much about it, and in no particular order:

All Out War - Destined To Burn
Gut Instinct - Disturbing The Peace
District 9 - Schoolahardknox
Social Decay - Life's Not Hard, You're Just Soft
Kickback - No One Get Out Alive

Honorable mentions:
Burn - Burn
Everybody Gets Hurt/Cold Front - Split
Billyclub Sandwich - Hold The Bologna
Confusion - Taste Of Hate
Second To None/E-Town Concrete - New Jersey Brotherhood and most of the Back Ta Basics 7" releases.

Damn, i loved that ep when i came out. I think it was '91 or so, i must have bought 5 copies the week it came out. I later traded them (aside from one). Even sold one a few years back for a hundred bucks! Crazy, when i think i paid 3 bucks each for them.

I loved Mankind, but i was a die hard Infest fan since '87 and played Slave hundreds of times before Mankind came out. I love that record, but to me Slave is their masterpiece. That thick bass sound, the rabid vocals, the raw production, and some of the best HC songs i'd ever heard up to that point. Fuck, tracks like Which Side, Mindless, Pickled, Where's the Unity, VYO... and fucking Life's Halt!!! To this day that breakdown makes me insane. As much as i love Mankind, it just doesn't compare to me. Either does No Man's Slave (yeah, i know, blaspheme).

As far as Downsided goes, it's a perfect HC ep. Never sure why it gets lumped into the whole powerviolence thing (i guess cause that MITB song). To me it's just fast, memorable hardcore, in the vein of the best DRI.

But of all the great records that came out between '90-93 or so, nothing grabbed me like the Citizens Arrest ep. I worship all the shit from that time - HC bands like Turning Point, Rorschach, Born Against, GO!, Crudos etc etc, all the PV stuff from the West Coast, and the more 'emo' stuff (for lack of a better term) like Moss Icon, Assfactor 4, Heroin, Merel, Chisel etc. And if i had to pick one record as a fave it will always be A Light in the Darkness. Every time
