I went back and listened to this song before you edited for the word filter and was really confused as to how anyone thought that sounded like PV. I've haven't listened to it much, but wasn't their earliest material in the kind of nu.metal-y 90's hardcore vein anyways?

i youtubed trigger thinking it was gonna be bouncy groove push but nah, that song sounds more like the jesus lizard/late 80's to early 90's touch n go. decent song.

New Quicksand is awesome. There's also an Angel Olsen covers/rarities/outtakes that came out that imo is way better than the LP from last year.

New Converge is fucking incredible. Good lord.

On the other hand, anyone listening to new Wu records in 2017 is a masochist. Ghost, Rae and some of the dudes can still put out real solid solo material but they have not made a good album as a collective since Iron Flag and even that wasn't an A+ effort.

I've given Converge a good try on a couple different occasions (You Fail Me, etc.) and I gotta say, I just could not get behind the sound BUT I decided to still give this new one a shot and.... Nothing's changed. I'm still not feeling it. I can see the appeal though and understand why people would like it. "Under Duress" at least 'stuck' for me.

My favourite is the Jamie XX one from a couple years back.
The BoilerRoom app is well worth a download.

Kaytranada's set is always an easy revisit for me. Mina's set from last month is dope too.

Phoebe Bridgers is probably my favourite record from this year. So so so painfully beautiful. Some of her lyrics, on top of the melodies and arrangements, just leave me absolutely gutted.

Propagandhi and Julien Baker too, for similar reasons.

My only complaint is how many b sides and stuff are just on there but the Springsteen and roky Erickson cover are sensational

Just got around to listening to the new Kindling record "Hush", I love it, reminds me of a cross between Dino Jr. and My Bloody Valentine, one of my favorite bands out of MA right now.

Not enough talk about the new Paradise Lost record!

I just jammed this the other day, it's pretty fucking great.

Converge are probably one of if not my favorite heavy band in general, and The Dusk In Us is making it's way into my top 3 releases for them ever. What a fantastic fucking record, every song is great. I wasn't huge on Reptillian or I Can Tell You About Pain when they were released as singles, but they work much better in the context of the entire album.
