The scale of these shows has gotten so ridiculous. I'm kind of hoping demand for these tickets won't be as extreme.

Also fuck Las Vegas resort fees.

Even a ticket for the tier all the way behind general admission and VIP was $120. Fuck that.

I guess I'm not a real Misfits fan anymore. :smt012

That was all Danzig's idea, I bet. Or it could be the venue, I know Dave Chappelle is playing there the next day and they are doing the same phone policy.

I read that they are giving you pouches to put your phones in and they are open able to open in certain areas in the venue (like the lobby or restroom), but they don't open anywhere in the general show area.

On the event page on the Ticketmaster website:

"Please note: No cellphones, smart watches, cameras or recording devices will be permitted during The Original Misfits reunion shows. These exclusive one-off performances will be completely phone-free.
Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr cases that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby. Anyone caught using a cellphone during the performance will be removed from the venue. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience."

I agree that dorks who film an entire set drive me crazy Too, but I hate it from the audience perspective. Could not imagine caring that much during a set where you're paid millions of dollars to worry about playing your instruments and entertain others.

Agreed. Taking a quick picture is one thing, but filming a whole set is overkill. I'd imagine that they would have a elaborate stage set up with a giant banner, I would only take a picture of the stage banner before the band would even start playing.

dude it was awful at Riot Fest Denver. SO many fucking herbs holding up their phones the entire set. i'm 5'9" and had a tough time in certain places seeing over the sea of smartphones. plus they create a glow that ruins the ambience. put the goddamn phones away. your shit quality recording of a set will mean nothing in a few days. people are so terrible.

I had never been to a show with a crowd like that until last night when i saw Action Bronson. I kinda figured I'd be seeing this since it was more of a hip hop show, but goddamn. Put the phones away and watch that shit. It's like spending $30 to watch a Youtube vid surrounded by random people.

Snapping a quick pick is totally acceptable. Anything beyond that and you're pushing it. You're basically communicating to everybody around you that a) you don't care if they're trying to have a good view, your photo/video is way more important and b) you worry way too much about what people on social media think and you're trying to create an image of a "cool" life of going to shows/concerts.

I literally flashed one picture. It embarrasses me to be the guy standing there taping. I don't really know how people use their flash for almost the whole set.

I would be funny if this resulted in loads of people selling their tickets in protest.

i agree with all of this. a few pics before, maybe during and around the end of a set is fine with me. preferably without flash.

anything more than that and you are a selfish prick without a life.
