I'm actually really happy for Oladipo. I think it goes to show sometimes playing in the league is all about fit. And not being drafted by the Magic.

Clips have to trade DAJ if Blake's knee is fucked. Cash in on their big piece. Try to get the Brooklyn pick.

Despite my prophecy of the Clips re-signing Blake coming true, they really shouldn’t have. You can’t seriously build a contender around a guy who’s a constant risk to miss half of the season.

And then throw Gallo into the mix? Why not bring Grant Hill out of retirement while you’re at it?

You cant build a serious contender around a guy who isn't that good. Blake Griffin is above average but that's it.

If he stayed healthy, Griffin would be a perennial MVP candidate. He’s improved in nearly every facet of the game with each passing year.

The only reason Rondo was ever good was because KG kept him in line. That's it. The minute KG wasn't there to police him, he became trash.

And Doc Rivers is a trash coach. Anyone who thinks that 2008 title wasn't because of KG / Pierce's leadership doesn't watch basketball.

Those two turned Rondo into a top 5 PG and Perk into a top defensive center.

And Avery Bradley. The majority of the reason Ray almost got traded to Memphis was because Doc started Avery, effectively giving Avery Ray's minutes.

Doc was a terrible coach on the verge of getting shitcanned before the KG and Ray Allen deals. That dude owes those guys his entire coaching career. He'd be an announcer again if it wasn't for them.

Two trades that Ainge gets tons of credit for when in reality:
- KG was acquired in a robbery deal where KG emphatically wanted out of Minnesota AND the GM was consummate Celtics homer Kevin McHale who gave his former teammate a sweetheart deal at 5 cents on the dollar
- Ray Allen was acquired from a Seattle team that was looking to rebuild through the draft (on the surface) and was secretly selling off any viable competitive asset to groom the team for a move to Oklahoma City

And if we're being completely fair:
- The Lakers acquired Pau Gasol in a deal that at the time was considered robbery because the president of the Grizzlies was consummate Lakers homer Jerry West. Having said that, they did get Marc Gasol who wound up being a beast himself but nobody knew that at the time

Stuff Doc/Ainge never get shit on for:

- Trading Perkins. The team didn't get another competent center until Horford, unless you count half a season of over-the-hill Shaq.
- Waiting so long to give up on the Jeff Green experiment.
- Never signing capable reserves during the entire stretch of the Big 3. Marquis Daniels? Stephon Marbury? Delonte West? 40 year old Jason Terry?

I'd probably want to see how IT plays with LeBron before just giving another title to GS. LeBron not having to do everything would be a good change for the time being.
