That Delonte shit is super sad. Guy has been getting assistance for his psychological issues since college and nothing seems to have stuck. Not sure his story is going to have any sort of happy ending, unfortunately. :smt009

Guy was a Boston fan favorite and one of the only worthwhile role players on those first stint LeBron era Cavs.

As someone who personally suffers from mental illness, seeing him in that condition is heartbreaking. NBA should definitely reach out and try and provide him with some type of mental health assistance.

I'm listening to two guys at work complain about the lack of talent in the NBA right now and discussing how much better the game was in the 70s and 80s. I had to try my hardest not to say a word because it's pointless but cmon guys

I definitely liked the '90s physicality. It was physical but not the '80s kind of physical. But from the perspective of talent, there's no comparison to today. People get bored with the NBA when teams like Miami/San Antonio/Golden State look like clear cut favorites to win it, yet the '80s/'90s were essentially the same but WORSE for about a 15 year stretch.

The 80's I can see a (poorly formed argument) case for, but not the 70's.

I feel like those arguments are always the most poorly formed but you'll never change someone's mind. Some people just get waaaaaaay too hung up on the players they watched then they were younger. Like I've heard people say Anthony Mason would dominate Lebron.

While that's true, I feel like today's players are just so much better on the ball. There were physical solid ass dudes in the 90s, but remember what guys like Shaq and Hakeem did to them with any sort of post move. Now think of what someone like Boogie would do to some 90s 4/5 if he was covering him one-on-one.

That's a lot of why it was so physical, that's the only way a lot of those guys could play defense, they had the foot speed of 2016 Yao Ming.

Houston's 3-team trade of Donatas Motiejunas is in process of being voided by Detroit in accordance with the NBA, sources tell The Vertical.

I don't know how set they were on cutting him but he does make like $7m and if he wasn't going to get to play, it would make sense. They players and Dave Joreger told them that they wanted him to play. The deals the Grizzliea did were strictly for the picks they got back, the players attached had no sway. If any of these guys work out, great. If not, the Grizzlies got a first round pick and 4 second round picks for two expiring guys. I think Lance will stick, probably even beyond this year. Hairston and BIRDMAN, probably not. Hairston has a chance to get an offer from them unless he continues to just be awful and get technicals every game.

I think you misinterpret my interest. It's not that they were going to cut him or the +/- of him playing, because yeah, it's about the picks. I want to know how the Goon Squad meeting and the subsequent meeting with management went down. Like did they start chanting "one of us, one of us" and then storm the office?

Houston should be able to enact the buyer beware clause in the CBA. Dude hasn't played 200 minutes this year, what did they expect? Unless his back is completely wrecked and they thought it was only sorta wrecked.

Is there one of these? I'm still waiting on someone to show me where in CBA/NBA bylaws that DET could have changed the pick protection...

Anyways, Pistons are on the verge of tumbling a good distance from the playoffs but not into 7th in the draft to secure their pick this year and it feels like they just got cold feet. I'm fine with that as a fan, as it wrecks DMo's RFA value and I think he can be a solid player(even with occasional flare ups). If I was DMo or Morey I'd be pissed though.
