I got into hc right as Facedown started to really get huge and saw so many of these bands over and over and over again. I feel like I saw Seventh Star fifteen times between 03-07 without even trying to.
Those Facedown tour packages they sent out were always legit...lots of shortlived/pretty shitty in retrospect bands, but they were always fun (remember Clear Convictions from like Puerto Rico or something?)

Ahh, damn, I forgot about Seventh Star. I saw them once in Dublin, California I believe it was. They were fun.

both are fucking bangers. i feel like the production is a little bit better on naked and cold so i'm gravitating towards that record. however, set apart is my favorite advent song and that's off remove the earth.[/quote

Their demos are pretty raw but somehow have on-par production with their LPs. Plus the demo version of "One Crushing Blow"... fuck. The bands Joe has done post-Advent (Torn, Your Son Is Dead) are insanely good also.

Yeah right. Go read Condemned to Fire lyrics

I've never actually read their lyrics, so maybe their vocalist had some Christian shit going on but I've never viewed them as a christian band. Maybe they were viewed as one back then though, if so that makes them the #1 christcore band ever.
Hopesfall and Advent were also pretty good.

God Loves, Man Kills

God loves, man kills all that he makes god loves, god gives man hates, man takes
indiscriminately without discretion we destroy his creation blessed with a curse a knack for
decay where life exists man strips it away God loves, man kills our actions clear the path
that'll lead to our death the age of man will come to an end again and again we breed
destruction we claim the knowledge of good and evil we claim to know what's best for our
people and so we act out with a false sense of righteousness and we kill under selfish pretense
God loves, man kills by nature, by design to create, to destroy both talents well refined
oblivious to the pain and decadense we cause on this course we remain until our actions kill
us all we stumble forward blindly destroying without a tear poor fallible mankind repent, for
the end is near God loves, man kills

i understand the word "god" is in the title, and littered throughout the song, but i just thought it was more for literary purposes and is more of a vegan\environmental\destructive human nature sentiment.

It's also the name of a X-Men graphic novel.

When hellfest got canceled, sinai beach and symphony in peril got booked at the hackettstown skatepark. They played in the middle of the roller rink...it was a blast.

The Blood for Blood show where there entire band was WASTED as fuck? Ragmen played as well. Jorge from Marauder was in that band. I almost fought some guys in the parking lot. They were trying to steal my car.

I agree, the 90's to around 2005 was they heyday for Facedown. Then I think they realized what garbage actually makes record labels enough money to sustain themselves and they jumped ship.

I just saw that the vocalist of Strongarm is coming out with a new project called "Age of awakening".

http://www.indievisionmusic.com/2014/11 ... awakening/

It looks like it's going to be super cheeseball, but honestly he is the best hardcore vocalist of all time so I can't doubt this band just yet.
