I saw them live shortly after the release of their first album. I used to dig em.

xdisciplex ad is such a great band. I used to listen to Sinaï Beach without knowing they were christian, I never really read their lyrics and wasn't very good in english when I was 16.

The only Christian -core shit I ever fucked with was shit around the time Underoath was popular. Still love that band though. I remember being into one Destroy the Runner album a lot. I loved Haste the Day and August Burns Red.

They were on Facedown records (Christian core label) and SolidState records (Christ core). This was years back though. Their vocalist is the current vocalist of Comeback Kid. I don't know that he's still a Christian.

I was unaware they were affiliated with christian labels. Love me some Figure Four.

Were they ever Christian? I know they were on SolidState records but I kind of had the feeling they just took the opportunity for some exposure.

Growing up in the south/Louisville ive seen so many of these bands over the years....Zao, Living Sacrifice, Beloved, FIgure Four, Stretcharmstrong, Beloved, Nodes of Ranvier, Sinai Beach, all of em. For whatever reason this shit was huge here and I definitely dug/still dig some of it.

I grew up in a religious home, and in middle school and high school when I got into heavy music, all these bands are what brought me into the genres. Beloved's "Failure On" album is brilliant. I'll still spin that record occasionally.

Advent was such an intense fuckin live band. And the lyrics were great; didnt fall into the trappings of a typical Christian hardcore band. It was a lot of frustration and anger towards the Church and how so many "believers" carry themselves. Wish I saw them more often.

Advent is probably the best spirit filled hardcore band of all time. They got insane reactions in Pittsburgh; extremely hard pitting throughout.

Zao's entire discography (even though starting with the Ferret stuff they really started denouncing any semblance of religiousness)
Strongarm - Advent of a Miracle
first Impending Doom record
Scogin-era Norma Jean/Luti-Kriss
The Chariot's first handful of releases
Underoath's records with their original singer
