South Park: Nutty by Nature

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

Postby LanceUppercut » Thu Oct 09, 2014 2:22 am

Meant to post this on the first week but oh well. So far the episodes are decent first one being my favorite, but what's up with the continuity (yes I had to google that ans don't know if I used it right. Drunk) of the season so far. Hope it lasts all the way through.

you mean how the 'lorde' joke from last episode was expanded on in tonight's episode? i thought that was pretty funny.

I missed last nights episode but the first episode was top notch. Whenever they bring back Scott Malkinson I lose it. I never want them to stop doing South Park because even their bad episodes are better than everything on TV.

The NSA/Shitter episode is one of my recent favorites for this alone

Been meaning to get back into this. I haven't watched since 2011. I might get baked and binge this weekend. Posting to remind my high self to do this.

They've really been carrying everything over. Last night's episode also had references to Butters' suspension, Randy drinking a gluten-free beer, and a bunch of others.

Enjoyed episode two more than one, but liked both. I have last night's on the DVR. Will probably get to it after Sons tonight.

The best episode of the season so far, IMO. I hope they keep doing the continuity thing.

This show will never die or get stale because there are always going to be relevant current events for them to poke fun of so they're never going to beat a dead horse.

This is the only tv show I watch live. I love every single episode so far of this season but recently I THINK it seems that the episodes end more abruptly. Does anyone else notice that?

Yo this is random but did anybody else lose it and cry like a little BAYBAYYYYYY when they did that really depressing episode "you're getting old" ? Like everything that was happening to stan hit home for me so hard, and then everything that was happening between his parents were pretty obviously the south park creators talking about themselves and the show. it was so fucking sad it actually realy got to me. hahaha

Also, forever my favorite show and the only show I actually religiously watch. I love this season so far and I think it is interesting that they are carrying along the stories but not beating the jokes to death.

Are y'all talking about the two parter (right?) where everything Stan sees/hears is shit? Because, yes, that was fantastic. It's not everyday that show creators/writers are willing to drop the veil and put their creative hangups out there for everybody to see. I legitimately think Matt and Trey should go down as probably two of the greatest minds in media, especially in their/our time. Definition of next level.

Yeah it's pretty much all Trey at this point, in the beginning I think it was half Matt half Trey but I think Matts really there to amplify Treys genius. That's 6 Days to Air special definitely showcases that. I especially like that they bring in different comedy writers to help with the storylines too.

Yeah, but you can't eliminate Matt from the conversation. They're a full-blown duo, so I feel like both deserve full credit for everything. Plus, it's not Matt's fault that Trey has some of the greatest vocal chords to ever grace the earth.

Listen to the Ron Bennington interview w Bill Hader and the part about south park.

You can't write Matt off, but while Trey is banging his head against the wall Matt is sitting at the table drawing pictures of boobs.

And, in turn, those boob doodles inspire Trey's next great idea. The creative process, y'know?

Oh, and speaking of the mini-doc, I feel like Trey is going to have serious health problems in the future. That much stress, work, and McD's cannot be a sustainable lifestyle.

I know what you're saying but i don't agree. Matt has his place but it's not like the ideas wouldn't get out of Trey if Matt wasn't there. It's all Trey.

I actually tend to agree with you, it's just one of those things that we can never say is completely true since they've done seriously everything as a pair. Either way, though, both deserve to be held in the highest esteem and I consider them (as one) genius(es).

So I just watched the first four eps of the newest season tonight in a row and it's still a funny show. I'm in the minority who thinks they've gotten better and better each season because South Park is still one show that can actually utilize satire.
