So wait, there is no actual proof this is Davey? But yet OP went ahead and made the assumption?

Well for one thing it sounds EXACTLY like him and

The website http://www.xtrmst.com is registered by the guy who owns and runs http://www.velvethammer.com That site is a management company and one of the bands they represent is AFI. They made the site in July of 2013. I guess this was a long time coming.

Is militancy cool again or is everyone just going to pretend like this isn't basically hate-speech because they think it's Davey Havok?

With song titles like "Conformist," are we sure the singer isn't in middle school?

they aren't, but the lyrics are pretty easy to understand at some points-

these are the parts I could understand from the first song:
"Intolerance, intolerance, I am the intolerant..."
"you're going to ask me how I live like this? you can barely speak. you ask me why I live like this and you're barely alive. 'only with your friends'...yeah...'just to relax, just to let go'...and the weekend is every day. You know it kills. You know it kills but you swallow it"

My favorite part of this whole thing is this apparent idea that anyone who's not edge and has a basic understanding of the modern scene gives a shit who's edge and who isn't.

the second song is pretty much the same shit. it's all "i'm more punk than you because I'm not drinking or doing drugs". Cool, someone else claiming supremacy. Really helpful.

When Rusty from H2O posts a pic of the cassette thanking Davey for it and hash tagging his name, one might assume it's Davey. All signs point to a connection if you look on any social media site and have ears.

The video of Davey doing straight edge revenge with Ceremony where he insinuates anyone who isn't vegan isn't actually straight edge should have been my first clue to stop taking him seriously. The shotgun blast haircuts should have been the second.

Regardless, I'll still jam the shit out of the AFI records I love. I'm used to thinking that the people who make the music I like are turds whose lack of ability to think in context leaves them criminally out of touch- I listen to punk after all.

It's been confirmed by AFINewsHQ that it's Davey on vocals and Jade on guitar.

It's so hilariously straight edge. But I'd rather listen to this than listen to blaqk audio and hear davey talk about sex.

Is this really upsetting to you? Those lyrics are literally minor threat. "You tell me it calms your nerves, YOU JUST THINK IT LOOKS COOL." Every straight edge band has similar songs to this but THIS rustled your jimmies? This is hate-speech? Give me a fucking break.

This sounds like X-Games/Monster Energy Drink music. The soundtrack to bros doing backflips on quad bikes and Tiger Woods hitting three under par.

The lyrics aren't great but it's hard for me to consider this "too straight edge" if when I have bands like Noose, No Tolerance, Brotherhood, Beware on my iPod. Musically I dig it. Will stay tuned for an LP.

I get a lot of threadbare/disembodied/108 vibes from this.

all of those bands sounded pretty NU so idk.

Also hearing Davey Havok sing about the Straight Edge in 2014 is almost pornographic to me and i don't give a fuck who knows it.

To be fair, my jimmies are less rustled then it seems. Also, "there's no set of rules, i'm not telling anyone how to live there life" is a bit different than "i am the intolerant"

I understand it's pretty easy to jump on board when it's Davey Havok and you hear blast beats and breakdowns. However after a few listens, I still dig it. Yeah it is pretty corny but to me Davey Havok has always been corny at some point.
