What's the group in west TN? My little girl is from a rescue around Union City that does something similar. She's the best and does a great job not murdering her dumb little bro

So I really miss my dog, Bowser (the creamie). He was with Cuddles (red one) and myself for 8 years of his almost 9 years. When my ex and I got divorced I let him have Bowser because he is Bowser's favorite human. However, for the last year my ex has been living with his new gf who has cats and he dumped Bowser at his dad's house. He see's him about an hour a week maybe. I feel like even though he is Bowser's fav person, he would be better off living fulltime with his second fav person and his best furry friend. Technically my mom and I bought him and I really want him back, but at the same time I know he is important to the ex. I wish we could do joint custody but his new gf doesn't even know he talks to me soooo yeah. what do I do?! doggy children are so complicated!

I'm in Jacson so it's about an hour from Union City. It's called Companion Pet Rescue or CPR for short. They almost never do local adoptions but they are changing their views on that. It's always been transporting them up to CT because if locals want a dog they tell them to go to the Humane Society or Rabies Contorl since it's such an issue around here. There are so many sweet dogs at our Rabies Control that get out down within 14 days. It sucks. That blue pit on the last page was the first one I've done by myself but I feel like it won't be my last.

PICTURES ARE FIXED!

Big post warning but I figured some of you guys would like to see what we've been doing rescue wise.

We first volunteered to help take picture of these 5 "S" puppies and it was a lot of fun and we ended up fostering them a few days as well. They are all adopted and in new homes up in CT.

This was the feeding area when we were fostering them. They climbed like crazy so we had to box them in to make sure they ate.
Image
This was basically how it was the entire time I was trying to get the pictures you saw above but I didn't mind it.

Then me and my wife were told about a group of puppies and two momma dogs who were abandoned by a river about an hour away from us. Their owner got evicted and just dumped them all and left. The rescue group agreed to take them all if we could find fosters and go get them. Turned out there were 4 puppies left (4 others had been taken by locals) and the two mom dogs. The brindle one was super sweet and came up to us right away but the tan mom who actually had the puppies was insanely scared and we had to trap her in a building before we could save them. We had never done anything like this before and just had a leash, 3 borrowed crates from the rescue, and some treats. It was tough but we got them all. The elderly couple who got in touch with us about them ended up fostering and then keeping the brindle mom. The tan mom is living on a foster farm right now and the puppies are all being ready to be adopted.

(Forgot to get a picture of the Brindle mom in her crate)
The brindle mom (Now named Misty) at her new foster turned owner's house right after being vetted and being spayed. Insanely sweet dog.

Last but not least, me and my wife swing by our local Rabies Control some because they had a 14 day rule that they get put down after that. The workers don't want it that way but the Health Department controls that and they don't care. I'm working on that. They do adopt about 80% of the dogs out but they also put to sleep an insane amount of pitbulls. Me and my wife fell in love with this one specifically when we were in there last Friday and his last day was Monday. I shared his story on Facebook and it ended up getting shared like 250 times (I expected like 10) and with 30 minutes left in the day on Monday before they closed, someone agreed to take him. I was gonna pull him regardless but my wife would have killed me. He was the most gentle sweet pit I've ever met. His owner went to jail because he didn't take care of a warrant so the guy's 60 year old mom was taking care of his dogs until she just couldn't anymore (all got adopted by the way). He was an inside dog that lived with other pets and I couldn't bear to get him put down. I had him for a few hours before I met the girl that kept him and I wanted to keep him so bad but we don't have the space or money for another 80lb dog right now. This was all done with me and my wife without any help from any rescue and it was so rewarding to see him get saved and go to a new home.
Spoiler: show
This was the picture that got me to go check him out and that spread on Facebook.

I have some more pictures I've taken of dogs that were going up for adoption but I literally just took pictures of them but I had a hand in these getting adopted and it's an awesome feeling.[/spoiler]

I want Steve!

Glad it’s finally warming up around here. Granted its only in the 30’s, but still better than the subzero temps we’ve been having since Christmas. I could tell my pups were getting stir crazy by not being able to run around outside. They barely wanted to go out and pee with how cold it was.

Last spring we brought these two into our house. I don't recommend getting two puppies at once! They have been a handful but things have calmed down a bit and we have a routine. They are both almost 10 months old now and about 130lbs.

He's losing teeth right now, so he's biting everything! He's definitely a terror, but he's also really sweet so it's forgivable sorta

It's been a year since we adopted Merlin. When we got him he had been returned to the shelter twice, had bit the groomer and vet, and was taking sedatives daily. Now he is not medicated, did not bite the vet for his shots this week, and is a 100% good boy

One of my dogs enjoys barking and running back and forth along our fence at every dog that walks by. Is there anything I can do to prevent her from doing this? Or is this just a natural reaction for dogs and I’d just be wasting time?

I’ve tried various toys to keep her distracted. Normally she is very food motivated, so I have tried treats and even feeding her meal out there when I know a dog is about to walk by. But even that doesn’t keep her attention.
