NBA: Gilbert Arenas aka the amateur Phil Ivey

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

Bonner is so fucking worthless now. I don't think I've seen him hit a three in 2 years.

Boban is sick, but he's definitely raw, and slow footed as a defender. I do wish Pop would cut Diaw's minutes in half (he's having a down year) to give Boban time.

Nah he convinced West to take a million dollars to be the enforcer guy the team has been needing for ages.

Denver buying out J.J. Hickson. In before San Antonio picks this guy up and molds him into a 4-year/$32 million caliber player.

The guy was a walking double-double for Cleveland and Portland but can't play defense to save his life.

Kirk Henrich? fucking weird choice but it makes sense. A harmless white guy with experience to use as the back up For
when Schroder takes over.

Actually, that's such a good subtle trade come to think of it now.

It also means Teague is getting moved 100% now.

Kieff rode his hoverboard on his way out of the Suns facilities after he got traded. Never change.

scrubber wrote:Can someone please just quickly explain the Boston draft situation this year and next? Its my understanding that as long as they don't do anything stupid options, they have the 3rd pick this year and the 4th pick next year?

they have the 16 17 18 nets picks (very likely could be top 5 lottery picks all 3 years)
a mavs pick and their own pick(online it says minnesotas pick? maybe its protected and will end up being their own)

they also have a whole lot of second rounders the next few years, and a memphis pick in 18 in addition to their own picks 17/18(they might not have an 18 pick)

on a related note, boston media is so salty that the celtics made no moves. I don't hate it, i wouldve welcomed a move and it couldve been interesting but as it stands they have three potential top 5 picks...theyve had terrible luck in the lottery before but as long as the lottery isnt rigged(it might be in all honesty) then the odds are odds no matter the past. If the celtics could get a number 1 or 2 pick over the next three years that turns into a durant/westbrook/curry/lebron level player then they could turn into a perennial contender. and imagine if they get TWO. the odds are slim but if anyone has the best chance its the celtics. that nets team is going to be bottom of the barrel for the next three years.

someone engage me in celtics talk because everyone i talk to about it are really fucking dumb and think the celtics are going to sign kevin durant this summer.

oh and on top of getting a bunch of top 5 picks like the 76ers the past 4 years the celtics are a 3 seed in the east

so basically... suck it bad teams. and suck it h.awks. i hate kyle korvers stupid face

Celtics did right by standing pat. Nothing out there was going to put them over the top right now and would have been selling those draft options low.

They will make another move for Teague in the post season. Thing is ATL will want those picks which is why I asked before. Boston wanted Horford or Teague bad in the trade period.. Teague is hitting his prime just now so it makes sense they want him.

Dawg, if they'd wanted Teague or Horford bad, they would have traded for them.

I think it was more a case of both teams playing it cool for now and showing their interests and offers etc...

ATL really don't want to part with one of their key players in the middle of the season when they need to back up their post season performance last year. Hawks fans are the most fickle in the world and the organisation needs consistency to improve that and the stupid fans need reassurance they are one of the top ten teams in the league and will remain competitive. You cannot fault the Hawks front office on much, they are far from a bunch of stooges.

celtics do not want teague. they have way too many guards, including an all star point guard.

That's because no one that gets significant airtime on 98.5 actually knows anything about basketball.

Like, I don't pretend to be much of a basketball aficionado either but even I roll my eyes at anyone trying to talk basketball on The Sports Hub. I avoid WEEI like the plague but the Hub is getting worse every single day.

I would love for Horford to be on the Celtics. That's a perfect spot for him. And it's crazy to think how set the Celtics are gonna be.

Also, I am the same height as that dude dunking and I get ecstatic getting net.

I could dunk a baby ball when I was 21-25 when I played a ton. Last time I tried all I could do was slap rim. There was a guy who'd play with us, he was maybe 5'8" or so and he could dunk a full sized ball. It just didn't look natural in person.

I played tonight for about 3 hours. I'm 27 and I definitely feel it a lot more than I used to afterwards. I'm trying to live it up because I feel like I'm not gonna have a ton more years where I can keep playing like this. I have horrible ankles from skateboarding as a teenager and I have to wear Active Ankle braces on both and I have a torn meniscus in one knee that I wear a brace on. I look like a robot from the waist down.
