What video games are you playing?

Just completed the main mission of Arkham Knight. That was a fun ending. Now I need to complete the minor missions to complete the game. Can't wait to finish this game up. I'm not rushing because I don't even know what game to pick up next. Maybe Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2? Anyways I got a ps4 on black friday and already completed 3 games. I have too much time on my hands

A friend of mine has a copy of Skyrim on disc and I'm wondering if I can install it from her copy and then somehow get around having to use the disc to play it later.

The only way you're gonna play it without a disc is if you buy a digital copy.

There's a lot of time spent traveling but the game itself is super interesting. The dialogue and quests themselves are top notch. The map is HUGE, and the variety of creatures you fight is awesome.

I don't think Witcher 3 was slow but it is one of the densest games ever. Amazing story, great side quests, fun and interesting combat, beautiful graphics, and a perfect soundtrack. I know it's not for everyone but for 30 bucks I would at least take a stab at it. It's one of the all-time greats.

I haven't owned a Nintendo system in forever. If it wasn't something I could take with me and play anywhere I wouldn't really give a huge shit but the portability of it is intriguing. I would love to bring it to work and play FIFA or Zelda on my lunch. Not sure if it's worth the money but I'll probably drop a pre-order anyways because I am an impulse spender like that.

300 dollars
2 hour battery life
80 dollar controllers
Paid online(And you've got to use a smart phone for basic functions like party chat)
No major exclusive game until Mario in the fall
Games are running in 720p 30fps
Third party support = ports of old ass games

If there's ever been anyone who has needed to follow these words of wisdom to a fucking tee,

it's Nintendo.

Zelda runs 1080/60 docked and 720/60 on the go. Some of PS4s most popular games are only 30fps so I don't think that's a big deal. Plus with a screen that size is 720 that bad? There's plenty of other stuff to complain about but I just wanted to make that small point.

My PC will always be my main gaming machine but I'll pick up a Switch down the line for the exclusives just like I did the PS4. If you care about graphics or FPS that much just sell your soul for a gaming PC.

I really doubt Zelda will run at 60fps, docked or not. Mario and Splatoon are both 60fps though. Lots of Nintendo games are, even on the wii u.

Zelda has been confirmed for 1080p/60fps docked. I read that earlier.

It's 2.5 to 6 hours, depending on game.

Joycons are 2 controllers in 1 pack for most game so it's $80 for 2 controllers. Exceptions being if you damaged/lost your packed in joycons, or if ARMS & other games requiring 2 joycons per person suddenly support more then 2 players. Then those joycons are expensive as fuck.

Paid online isn't a criticism when people accept XB1 and PS4 online services. You don't need to use smart devices for social features, they said you _can_. Big diff. You _can_ already do that with XB1 and PS4, so it's probably the same way here. Just a feature, not a forced solution.

The calendar isn't finalized.

There's new third party games. SMT 5, a No More Heroes sequel, Xenoblade 2, Dragon Quest 10 & 11, Dragon Quest Heroes 2, that new Square Enix IP, the new FIFA, etc. There's plenty that hasn't been announced formally too. I would still be leery myself. I understand not everyone likes Japanese RPGs but remember that Nintendo has been about that for decades with their handhelds, and this is a console/handheld hybrid. Having a ton of those will only sell their systems more, which benefits everybody since then you'll see more varied 3rd party games that aren't JRPGs because of the increased playerbase.

I was still underwhelmed by the presentation.

Btw. 1-2 Switch should be a pack-in game. No one's going to pay $50 or $60 for that game. It's the equivalent this gen of that Wii Sports nonsense for casuals.

I will bet you my girlfriend of 7 years that whatever they shit out as a paid online service won't be anything like PSN or XBL. I will stuff her in a box and mail her to you if I'm wrong.
This is the company that gives you numbers for gamer tags like Auschwitz prisoners. I wanted to be excited for this thing. PS2/GC duo ended up being my favorite gen. Nintendo games are awesome. Hope to God they stop putting out these stupid consoles and focus on just making games.
