It was pretty good, I just think Atomic Blonde was more successful at being an actual feminist movie.

Call Me By Your Name was great. Hammer, Chamalet, and Stuhlbarg were all great in this. Loved that it was done in a subtle approach and it wasn't handled melodramatically. The third act is incredible.

Anyone know when You Were Never Really Here (w/ Joaquin Phoenix) is coming out?? This is being compared to one of my fave movies ever, Taxi Driver, so i can't wait to see this. Trailer looks like something i'd eat up.

Here's a MoviePass trick I just learned...

I live a mile away from a Regal and can check in from home even though it says you have to be within 100 ft or whatever.

Also, after you check in, you can buy tickets and reserve seats online from Regal as long as you don't log in first. For some reason, it only works as guest. But, after you go through the payment information and put in your MoviePass card info, you can enter your Regal loyalty number.

New steel book of GET OUT has such a better cover than the regular DVD/movie poster (cracked mirror). At Best Buy for 15 bucks.

Billboards is good. Real good. Both leads (I seriously can't see how Rockwell is considered supporting) are great....but it feels weird because they're the only two characters that get true focus. Which doesn't hinder the movie, it just feels odd to consider it a thorough "accomplishment".......I guess? Everyone else is good, too, but a lot happens for not a lot happening.

I'm like this with movies like Thor: Ragnarok or Spider-Man: Homecoming or whatever bullshit. And in these cases i DO NOT need to see the film before i can develop a strong opinion on it. Sometimes i'll see a movie like this while flipping channels, watch the first 5 minutes, laugh a little and then change it. Just not my thing. Difference is i don't judge people who do like these movies.

Haven't seen Lady Bird yet. It's on the list.

Believe me, my horizons couldn't be any broader. I watch pretty much every movie i can from the late '30s up to present date. I'm a film fanatic. Just not into super hero stuff is all. The Dark Knight ruled however. Same with The Punisher. That;s about all i can take in the genre. And i really doubt i'm depriving myself of anything.

Punisher the movie with Thomas Jane. Guess i liked it so much because the main character had no super powers. There wwas no CGI. No corny dialogue etc. And the fight scene with the big Russian guy was intense.

Recently re-watched Inception. Great flick, especially once they begin the job. I couldn't stand Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character though. Besides having zero personality in the movie, it became annoying real quick that his main role was to explain the plot to the audience during the entire film. Also couldn't care less about the Mal subplot. But besides Hesher and Juno being bad casting decisions, it's a killer flick.

Some of it made no sense to me though. Like when Tom Hardy says "You can't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling" and then pulls out an imagination grenade launcher. That would imply the team could just dream up whatever they want at any time.

Way to make a taut crime thriller look like an ABC Family original that you find in a Wal-Mart $5 bin
