Weight loss picture thread! (and tips!) Ver.69

General discussion, shows, and everything else.

Postby CuteShawn » Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:05 am

I dug the last one, so much motivation stemming from just checking out everyone's progress, I think I've made enough of my own to post pictures of my stupid ass, hopefully get some other people from the last thread in on it. I have about 10-20 pounds to go before I lose the rest of my tummy and I'm at my goal. I started about 2 years ago and weighed in around 285 pounds, I've lost 75 so far and am at 210 lbs now. Lets see 'em!

Also, add how you lost it. I'm always curious as to how people went about doing it.

I joined a gym, stopped eating candy, drinking soda, etc. I try to run as much as possible, keep my motivation up constantly and always set goals for myself.

FatBrad wrote:Tips to lose weight:

Eat small meals often. Keeps your metabolism up/constantly makes your body work.

No junk food. Fruits, veggies, small portions of nuts.

Water only. ONLY.

Keep up your protein intake. Do NOT let it dip. Protein is the number one macro needed to lose weight/keep your body from using muscles to supply energy for the body. That doesn't mean that bullshit fake soy protein from boca and morningstar either. Real foods.

Keep your salt intake in check.

Exercise. Losing weight is all mental. You can force your body to do some crazy shit, but if you talk yourself out of it before you even start, you'll never succeed.

Get out of a "diet" mindset. This has to be a full time thing. You can't just go back to your old habits when you reach your goal weight. Change your life and make your new ways your new habits.

While I think things like weight watchers is good to start, I honestly believe you only need to do it for a month at max. You should be able to see what they're telling you to do and keep it going on your own. It'll save you money and help you be able to wane off of their products/know what to do with your own store-bought food.

Hell yes, just keep at it, its taken me so long cause I've just gotten lazy, stick with it and you'll feel 100 times better about life, I couldn't even run 1/4 of a mile when I started, now I'm signed up for a triathlon in September, and remember it starts in the kitchen, you can easily destroy work outs with bad food choices, that's always been my problem.

Running 5 or 6 days a week, 2 or 3 miles a day. Worked out back and biceps 1st day, triceps, chest, and shoulders 2nd day. I've pretty much refined all free weight routines for myself and just figured out the best way to minimize muscle loss as I lost weight. Talk to a trainer at a local gym, they'll set you up. Just remember to be consistent, its an everyday thing.

haha, whatever I want mostly. Lots of fish, lean meats, veggies, fruits. I eat breakfast everyyyy morning. Usually eggs, whole wheat toast, & fruit or oatmeal and fruit. I try to eat every 3 - 4 hours, and thats usually nuts or fruit. lunch is tuna or chicken, dinner is whatever is around, most likely fish or veggie burgers. Morning star Asian patties with mozzarella or pepper jack cheese melted on top is seriously fucking amazing, and I am usually a hardcore carnivore. I don't stray away from shitty foods though, I just try to minimize my intake, can't go completely health nut or I would lose my mind and eventually binge (which is what happened to me before)

Thread is backed, OP is backed. Good work man.

I don't have before pics because it just kinda happened. Around march I had a rough patch and just started running every day. I've been running ever since. I went from around 210 pounds to about 165 and I feel great.

It really is just a mindset. I ride my bike to work and I run at least 5 miles at least 5 times a week. I started eating better, cut out soda's and just kinda started looking at what I was eating.

It's easy as shit if you put your mind to it.

Next step is getting into weights and toning up everything.

I've lost 28lbs since April! Not enough to post pictures yet but I am still really happy. All I really did was change my diet / walk more places instead of taking the bus / car etc.

I went from 240lbs to somewhere between 180-190lbs. I cut out pop, drank lots of water, and started to exercise more. Back then I had a job where I was on my feet most of the day, now I've been working in an office for the past 2 years and am starting to see the weight creep back. I've started to hit the gym again and hopefully will get back on the right track.

i don't have any really good pictures of my fatty days, but i reached 330 at one point and decided enough was enough. i moved away to college shortly after i hit that mark and lived two miles off campus. i always rode my bike or walked to class 2-3 times a day, only drank water and milk (other than beer), ate 5-6 small meals a day, totally cut out fast food, and generally just ate smarter. i am sitting at 200 now and have put on a few extra pounds but i've been hitting the gym regularly in hopes of toning up a bit.

before (approx. 300ish lbs)

Was at 340 last summer, currently at 273. Changed my diet completely and started working out again, but the biggest factors were cutting high fructose corn syrup completely outta my life and switching from 2/3 meals a day to smaller portions of 4/5 meals.

this. the biggest motivation for me were the compliments from my friends when i came home over breaks from college. it's hard for people that see you everyday to notice as much since they see the slow progress. also, i got laid more the more weight i lost, that was pretty awesome motivation too.

keep up the work dude, it's a long road. but it seems like you're headed in the right direction and already made the necessary changes.

no pictures, but I went from 240lbs to 150lbs. the key: diet soda. or any kind of diet drinks. just make sure you aren't consuming calories from drinks, that is the biggest fucking waste.

Awesome thread. Congrats to everyone.

Everyone has their methods and tips, Ill just throw a few out that worked well for me.

- Lifting Weights/Resistance training burns more fat than just running. Building muscle strength is a huge fat burning activity. Lifting weights will also boost your metabolism for a full 24 hours after. Combine weights with cardio for best results.

- Whoever said it al starts in the kitchen is absolutely right. 80% of weight loss is food intake and what you put in your body. Try to never go hungry and never get full. Try to eat every 2-3 hours. About 6 times a day.

- Get most of your food from plants (fruits and veggies). You need protein to build muscle and help you stay lean, but your body fuels on carbs. Eat FOOD and not FOOD LIKE SUBSTANCES. They less you eat processed food, the faster you will see the weight drop off. Hit the produce section, the meat section, and the fresh grains section of the super market. Try not to eat anything that has more than 5 ingredients in it, and make sure those ingredients are things you can pronounce. Learning to cook your own food from scratch will help you lose weight really fast by not putting artificial processed foods into your body.

Good Luck everyone. These photos are great and inspiring.

I am losing weight also, but I dont want to be. I went from 195 at 5'10 which isnt bad, but now I think I am flirting with 165ish because of getting sick and not eating and stuff.

I want to be 175. I guess I have more incentive to get back to the gym and bulk up.

I went from 246 to 185 just by cutting out soda.

This thread gets me pumped. I'm starting college here real shortly, and I'll have access to their gym, and I plan on working out 6 days a week. I'm 6'2", 220lbs, and I'm not so concerned with what I weigh, but replacing some of the fat with muscle.
