It's still not the most insulting finisher ever.

From that picture it looks like he probably started juicing in WCW but learned how to work out in the E.

i hate mysterio so much. the fact that he won a royal rumble is ridiculous on its own and then having him win the title is even more of a joke. i hate how he can only be a face and how he won the rey/punk feud. hes not believable in the ring as someone who can win a match against another person.

EXACTLY.

I've been saying this forever but wrestling depends on that if it was not scripted, you believe that the person winning a match or dominating a feud could actually do so. It's not hard to believe that John Cena could beat Randy Orton in a match or CM Punk could beat Morrison or whatever.

Mysterio beating Batista, or Orton, or any other main-eventer? Give me a fucking break. I always had that same problem with Eddy Guerrero, too. He just never felt like a main event guy. Mysterio will never feel like a main event guy. I wouldn't even want the Intercontinental belt on him.

Exactly. Do I think Randy Orton could really win a fight with the big show? No, but it's possible. At least they let Eddy cheat, and when Eddy got on roids he looked like he could hang. When Rey got on roids he just looked like that kid who matured in middle school.

especially when THIS is his finisher. fucking Vader could finish someone with a splash like that, but not rey who weighs like 8 pounds.

Vader is even more impressive if you compare him with Umaga, Mark Henry and other guys his size around now. None of those wrestlers can do the shit Vader did, much less on a regular basis.

I fall asleep to WCW or WWF at night (justin.tv) and every Nitro or ppv was held together by the cruiser weight division. So many awesome finishers to matches.

VADER VS. THE YAKUZA
The most hush hush of the fights, and one I know little about, except that Vader was reportedly stabbed in the legs, arms and stomach backstage at a Pro Wrestling NOAH card. There was a bizarre rumour that Vader stabbed himself (Vader was in the midst of a contract dispute with Mitsuharu Misawa at the time), although that was just absurd. Vader's affiliation with NOAH soon ended.

Besides the early incarnation of the NWO, the cruiserweight division was the best thing that WCW had going for it. They were LOADED with talent and there were so many good matches.

in a book i read he was tied up and given specific cuts in specific areas with razor blades to make his life horrible. they weren't trying to kill him.

Kobashi/Misawa, to me at least, is probably the pinnacle of all wrestling. Those matches make me lose my shit EVERY time I watch them. Still bums me out that Misawa is gone.

Also, Vader was the man. Only dude around the time that was as big and agile as him was Bam Bam Bigelow and he was awesome too.

I don't know how you guys feel about buying wrestling DVD-R sets. But Highspots has some pretty cool collections including Vader in Japan and the Kobashi/Misawa series.

Or you could just hit up IVP Videos, which is a lot of the same content, but only $3 a disc as opposed to Highspots charging full price for burnt DVDs.

I used to know a handful of other places back when I was heavily into trading, but aside from CMax, it doesn't look like any of the sites are current anymore, or even still around.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but have you guys checked out the 'Dead Wrestler of the Week' article on Deadspin? Despite the article's name sounding derogatory/shitty, it is actually the complete opposite. The columnist actually does a good job of covering each wrestler's legacy, and their impact on professional wrestling. This week's article covers ECW. Check out the colums here:

Agreed. I wish they'd have put him in the Fatal 4 Way match instead of Mysterio. I know Kane wouldn't win but it could further the story line along nicely. Either way SD was solid this week. Kofi and Mcintyre had a great match.

It seems they kept Ray in to continue the feud with Punk. We still haven't gotten the big payoff of seeing his bald head yet, so the fued hasn't had it's culmination point.

So underrated its disgusting. His matches in WcW were some of the most solid bouts on every card. WcW's cruiserweight division was so good in those days. 3 Count vs the Jung Dragons so gooood.
