I can't recommend Sendai Girls enough man.

My thoughts on joshi promotions:
Spoiler: show
Stardom is top heavy. Main event and second to last match are usually good stuff but the early stuff is people aged 12-16 or older not that good wrestlers. A couple of really good main event level people and some solid upper midcarders but the rest is completely skipable. They also really like to use foreign wrestlers. Sometimes they're top names and talented and sometimes they're really uninteresting lower quality wrestlers.

Sendai Girls is generally solid in talent from top to bottom. Good mix of legends and younger wrestlers.

Oz Academy is good if not chaotic. I can get people not being all that into it but it's another good mix of legends and younger wrestlers. Weapon use isn't a big deal and plenty of shenanigans. They rely mostly on other promotions wrestlers.

Tokyo Joshi Pro is good if you like DDT. They have a couple of really good wrestlers past the comedy stuff.

Seadlinnng is pretty fun and good quality stuff just not as big as some of the other promotions. Their roster is just Nanae Takahashi, Yoshiko and Arisa Nakajima. Sareee left to be a freelancer but they rely on other freelancers and other company wrestlers. Use a fair amount of people from Ice Ribbon and Wave.

Wave isn't that bad and they have some good wrestlers(Rina Yamashita, Kaho Kobayashi, ASUKA) but you can generally catch them on OZ or Seadlinnng cards. They also have a guy that they're training that wrestles for them.

Ice Ribbon is uhh Ice Ribbon. It's not that bad and they've got one of the better joshi wrestlers in Tsukasa Fujimoto but it's one of the promotions I've never really been able to get into.

Pure-J I haven't seen much of at all although I assume it's the same shit as when it was JWP. Which would make it a mix bag of ok stuff and boring shit.

I wish Marvelous actually recorded their stuff. They have some solid wrestlers.

Wave and Stardom have streaming services but the rest can usually be found on Real Hero or on the Nico youtube channel.

100%

Stardom is just... lackluster. Their roster is exhausted, and theyre kind of stuck playing catch-up to every one else because so much of their roster are teenagers or early 20 year olds. Jungle Kyona and HZK are breaking out, but so many of those shows are just skipping to the main events for any thing Mayu Iwatani or Io Shirai get involved in.

Most of the Sendai Girls shows go to RealHero, and they dont run nearly as frequently as other feds so theres a sense of quality when an event finally gets uploaded. If you got some time, check out their Korakuen Hall (06.04.2017) show from earlier this year, tremendous top to bottom

I know my xbox can use the edge browser and I can stream it on that. I download the file and use Plex to watch it which works better for me since I usually watch shows broken up.

If your tv supports it, download it and put it on a thumb drive and watch it that way?

Been meaning to post about the Kenoh vs Go match but keep forgetting. Brutal kick and chop exchanges and an overall really good match, like most of NOAH’s main events this year. Really looking forward to Kenoh vs Eddie Eddie and I hope they let Kenoh run with it.

it's really cool to see both guys getting booked in pwg.

I mostly wanna watch both those Jonah matches from those previews, they look great. I remember somebody was going to book a big dude tournament on the indies a while back, I wonder what happened to that. Need to see this Jonah guy vs all the other big dudes

I hope they stack this card with some freelancers, i gotta think they understood the last success of bringing in Takumi Iroha. I havent seen a good Stardom "event" in... months. If at all this year?

I glanced at the posts about that card and yeah. It seems pretty underwhelming. The current crop of gaijins they got over there just aren't that interesting to me.

12/2 Sendai Girls has Meiko Satomura & Io Shirai vs Hiroyo Matsumoto & Chihiro Hashimoto.

That should be fucking fantastic.

Like one of the best PWG matches to take place outside of PWG. I don't know if it was this thread or on twitter but I totally agree with whoever said that Chuck Taylor looks like he's having a blast in Japan. With guys like Cobb and the Big Guys That Can Move discussion above, I'm all for a resurgence of Super Heavyweights. And these guys probably won't die of heart conditions from being huge coke heads.

I think David Starr is a good wrestler, but everytime I see him at events I'm pretty tough with him. First time I saw him, I was in a real heckling mood and he had some words for me too and pointed me out. Every since then, it's "You suck" and "Go home" everytime I pass by him.

I think Suzuki’s case is primarily in historical significance and longevity, supported by wrestling ability and not hurt by drawing ability. He started Pancrase and was an important factor in the popularity of MMA and pre-dated UFC, and since it was such a sketchy company in terms of works or shoots and blurring those lines I think that absolutely counts. He’s had a 30 year career and still wrestled at an extremely high level when given the opportunity. He drew as triple crown champion and the NOAH run did draw that first year, which is something people forget. After the Suguira turn and that second year is when the numbers really fell, but he wasn’t in the GHC picture at that time. As far as wrestling ability, he’s (still) an extremely good technical wrestler, good brawler, monster persona, and something that I think is very important and should absolutely be considered is his comedic timing. The Mecha Mummy matches and his DDT work are so good and completely valid in terms of assessing a wrestlers skill. I can’t say he’s a better candidate than Akiyama, or maybe Taue, but I’m a big believer in him as a HOF case.
