Someone was giving me decks, which were nice considering that they were free. I'm riding a shop deck that is fairly decent now. Consolidated is sick and Creature boards are pretty cool too

Anyone I've ever known who met Tom Penny said he was out of it on drugs at the time... Someone said to me a couple of weeks ago that as a result of his years of heavy drug use, these days he has a minder to look after him wherever he goes. Bless him.

I always preferred Alien boards. They had a steeper concave which I felt better flipping and I always rode Destructo trucks because they were so light.

Rode them for the same reason.
Here and there I would try a different board company but always went back.
Had one Chocolate board and the shape was too mellow, but the Girl Koston
board I tried was nice. Had a pretty magical Shorty's Smolik board once.
Clearly I peaked in 2001, ha.

Most underrated skater of this era to me. He's doin some tricks in this part that preempted what's cool currently.
All style. No need to bust yourself on a rail, psssh.

We might be the same skate person. Was it Smolik's first pro model with the dice? That was one of the best decks I ever skated. I had a flip that was nice too but AW boards just seemed to be really durable so I kept them around as spare and rain decks and usually regretted switching brands.

Ha, yes the dice board! Surprised I didn't buy second one. And on that note, my friend had thee Muska board and I did not like the shape. Weird small tail as I remember.

The Muska with the sillhoutte and like 6 different colorways? Yeah that board was a piece of shit. I would have replaced the Smolik for Smolik knowing what I know now, but getting new boards was part of being cool, so I couldn't bring myself to do that shit back then.

Just got back into skating after about 12 years because my 7 year old got a board. I took him to Burnside just to watch and he loved it.

I've been absolutely destroying myself trying to re-learn the basics and just messing around with little dorky flatground stuff. Still can't catch kickflips on a consistent basis and it's maddening. I'd love to just roll around at a park but I'm old and worried about being clowned on by a bunch of teens :smt010

If anyone has a link to last night's Epicly Later'd, post that shit.

Also, they're releasing a new board every week for the next 9 months, looking like some THPS3 shit lmao.

Bam episode was great, I feel really bad for the dude. I can see how people who first knew him from skating as opposed to the MTV shit would have a different opinion of him. I just remember seeing his stuff in skate mags and being amazed that this little kid was dropping in on the gnarliest shit. Also, Phil is confirmed as the greatest dad of all time for driving Bam all over the place to skate.

Excited for the Kirchart episode, I always loved his skating but he was super low key so it'll be cool to see what he's been up to.

Yeah I saw it in the Seattle times I think. Also, that's rad you're in Tacoma. If you want to skate with someone who can't do flip tricks, doesn't do handrails, is kinda old and pretty scared just doing 50-50s on a mini ramp, shoot me a pm. i live right next to stadium high school where there is a covered parking garage and some curbs we could do slappys on.

Haha sick! I actually only do skate photography and videos. Not much of a skater myself. I use to live in Renton and started hanging out at Liberty Park and fell into doing stuff like that.

Ha. It's either buzzed short or a weird grown out, angled bowl cut. But Getz seems pretty rad in his old age. I follow his instagram and him and his wife adopted like 4 3rd world kids and he just runs Nocturnal and chills playing with his 7 kids in their giant yard.

They weren't 3rd world kids, they are his wife's sister's children. He talks about it in his chromeball interview.

Same here. It was hilarious when Birdo showed up looking like my dad and tried to flex on him. I guess it's not surprising to see where Andy's at now, but it's still pretty sad. Part of me hopes he can find a way to make a living and stay clean by working with young skaters, that part gave me the feels. I was never a huge Muska fan he's definitely an interesting dude so should be good.

so the next one is Muska are there any others coming?

Couldn't find an official season schedule anywhere, just a blurb on Vice that listed Andrew Reynolds, Harmony Korine, and Jason Dill.

I made the mistake of skating in my authentic lites. Within a few hours they were completely obliterated and I even ended up with a hole in my favorite socks.
