Yeah, I saw some ads for it online and thought maybe it was one of those "Has science gone too far?" photoshopped ads for a second.

Picked up a natural finish Silver Series Ibanez Strat today for $325, made in Japan, serial number dates 1977. It's got a fat 70's headstock too, which I LOVE. Plays awesome for MIM pricing.

After years of wanting a nice 2x12 for a couple EV SROs I have, and looking at other companies to order from, I finally ordered an Emperor thanks to them being back in biz. Can't wait.

I spoke with Craig, if that's who was running it before. They look to be on par with what was being built before they went down for a while. I hope so, at least!

Just started playing guitar live. I only recorded stuff and messed around before. Recommend me cool distortion pedals and etc.

p.s. I got the j mascis jazzmaster and I love it, I can't believe it's a squire.

I really like my zvex distortron, you can find them pretty cheap, there's one on ebay for $85 now. They have a small footprint, and they're real versatile. Mine is always on to give my amp (which is very clean) some bite and crunch, but you can use it do super heavy fuzzy stuff too. I've been considering selling my rat and replacing it with a second distortron.

I really like my Barber Direct Drive compact. It has a couple of toggle switches to control how much gain you're getting/how transparent it is, so it covers a pretty wide range of harmonic content from light overdrive to big Marshally kind of crunch. They go for like 150 new. Definitely a great distortion.

I think Mascis uses that Squire model live, at least some of the time. I might be lying, but I thought I'd read that somewhere.

For what it's worth, my favorite klon-style pedal I've tried is the Wampler Tumnus. It's really small (the opposite of a real klon) so that might be good or bad depending on your preference, and that said it also needs a power supply rather than a 9v battery. But it sounds great, doesn't lose low end the way some of the clones I've played do.

Selling an Ampeg 2x15 SVT 215e $450 local pickup in NJ if you can grab it by Saturday afternoon.
Downsizing, have too many bass cabs considering i never have to use them anymore. Cabinet itself in good shape, casters , handle etc. Speakers excellent. Tolex shows typical signs of road wear and is taped up. This is a pretty rare cabinet and goes for $700-800 with the Tolex in good shape. Delivery possible, for a fee if not local.

For plate reverb I'm torn between EHX holy grail neo, digitech polara, pedal monster well and catalinbread talisman. I haven't been able to try any of these put personally, looking for help deciding or perhaps another suggestion, I also really don't want to spend like 300$ on a pedal I'm not gonna use all of the time

I had one for about two weeks. I ended up going back to my Stereo Wet. The Space is really cool but too complicated for me. I traded it straight up for a Timeline and ended up selling that too. I thought I needed these super complex delays and reverbs and ran through the Space, TimeFactor, and Timeline in about 2-3 months and ended up going back to an El Capistan, Stereo Wet, and an Ibanez DE-7 which is one of the most underrated delays I think.

I don't feel like these pop up too often. Snagged this from a seller in Japan for cheap (even including shipping). Admittedly, I'm only familiar due to the connection with its use on You Fail Me/No Heroes. But I'll get a chance to fully dig into it tomorrow. :smt096

Hey guys, having a bit of a problem and need some advice from the board. I just picked up a Marshall 1987x at a great price and I really dig it. The issue is that I play in a death metal band and it is obviously 1. extremely loud, and 2. somewhat "clean." If I was to be able to use it for aggressive music, should I get it modded, use an attenuator, run a pedal, or something else?

If anyone knows any dudes who do Marshall mods that would help too. THANK YOU.

I would vote pedal. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get a good sound for what you're looking for out of that and a RAT.

definitely throw an overdrive on that bitch. use the volume on the OD as a master volume.

maybe run a good fuzz into it. DOD stuff, HM-2, rat, etc. iirc a lot of the tampa bands used a jcm 800 into a rat

FOR SALE

vintage 1981 gibson les paul standard in natural finish with gibson 498t and 495r
this thing has survived the 80s and it is a player, pure and simple! stratches, finish wear on the back, but still clean and dry at the same time. VERY fast playing with those 70s style fat and low frets that apparently made it until 81 as it would seem. ahhhhh 80s....so as you can imagine the pots and pickups and hardware were not original, but i put them all back to a matching nickel finish set of tight fitting, good resonating kluson and gotoh parts. the tuners ARE original. the staplocks are dunlops, that are body flush mounted. ernie ball strap that goes with it will be included. i've robbed the case, so i'll have to pick up a new hardshell. so, new hardshell case!

$1800

ultra rare, CHROME chassis rackmounted mesa boogie dual rectifier, in the rack case, with the korg dtr-2 tuner (spray painted black by me a million years ago), and the furman power supply.
early revision mesa boogie dual recs are sought after for just sounding better, and the rackmounts were always said to sound better than the standard head version. i happen to find this one a lot dryer than typical dual recs. it has the balls of a dual rec, but with the capabilities of crossing over into jcm800 territory if needed, and the blend between the two is excellent. it currently has 4 EL34s in the power section, which i always prefer over the 6L6s.

$1600

if you buy them both, i'll throw in an 80s marshall 1960A cabinet with checkerd cloth. probably g12t-75s in the cab. they're stock.
goodtogoace@gmail.com

prices are absolutely firm and already on the low side.
fun fact, after a show with bars, tim cossar told me how much he liked how this dual sounded and then we copied each others amp settings. nice guy.

Playing a 15 watt Marshall clone and traynor bassmaster , I'm going to have a earthquaker acopulco gold into one amp for over drive and I'm stuck between the vemuram karen and xotic sl drive for the other . I love both but have never played either. Also running the xotic ep as an always on pedal. Is the Karen worth the hype, or should I sell everything and just get a plexi? Haha

Got a Fender Flea jazz bass today. Loosely based on his one of a kind 1961 shell pink bass. Really nice thin nitro paint, the neck has had the varnish removed for a less sticky feel, two stacked knobs instead of the modern three. Previously owned by the bass player in the King Blues.

I don't know much about amps but would you trade a Fender Bassman 135 for a Music Man HD 130? I've got a Fender Bassman 135 and it's a badass amp and all but it just doesn't mesh well with my band so that's why I'm looking to trade.

i play in an instrumental band and i'm looking for something with a warm and clean sound. My bassman gets a little too distorted when I turn it up a bit. I'm using a Fender P bass if that helps.
